Trace Adkins' Fleet Week & Memorial Day Duties
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Sunshine, Sachs & Associates) Trace Adkins' signature baritone has recorded countless Country hits, his no-hold-barred demeanor made him a favorite finalist on NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice and as an actor, he played a dangerous biker in The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey. However, it is his work to honor those that serve that Trace is particularly proud of. His duties this week - welcoming Fleet Week to NYC and performing during the live broadcast of the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington DC - are nothing short of an honor for this Country giant.

Trace Welcomes Fleet Week to NYC:
5/23 - Boards USS WASP & Gives Free Concert at Hard Rock Cafe New York
5/24 - Performs at Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum's Annual Salute to Freedom Dinner

Trace Celebrates Memorial Day:
5/27 - National Memorial Day Concert performance, live on PBS, from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol

First, Trace Adkins will kick off the 25th Anniversary of Fleet Week New York as nearly 6,000 military personnel, including U.S. Navy sailors, U.S. Marine Corps personnel and sailors from U.S. Coast Guard arrive in NYC.

On Wednesday, May 23, Trace will board the U.S.S. Wasp to welcome the ship's crew. On Wednesday night, Trace will perform a free concert for sailors at Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square.

On Thursday night, Trace will perform the national anthem to kick off the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum's 21st annual "Salute to Freedom" dinner, where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will be among those honored. Also that evening, Trace's full band will perform for those gathered aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, on Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue) in Manhattan.

On Sunday night, Trace will perform during the National Memorial Day Concert, which will air live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol on Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET. The multi award-winning television event is an American tradition, honoring the service and sacrifice of all our men and women in uniform, their families at home and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Co-hosted for the seventh year by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna (CRIMINAL MINDS) and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise (CSI:NEW YORK), the all-star line-up will include: distinguished American leader Colin L. Powell USA (Ret.); the multi-platinum rock band Daughtry; nine-time Grammy award-winner, singer and songwriter Natalie Cole; country music superstar Trace Adkins; acclaimed film and television actress Selma Blair; Emmy, Oscar and Tony award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn; Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actor and Vietnam veteran Dennis Franz; and world renowned tenor Russell Watson; in performance with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly (additional talent to be announced). The special will also be sent to troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network.

Last October, Trace Adkins was awarded the Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. He has performed 7 USO tours overseas and recorded several tribute songs, include "Arlington," "'Til The Last Shot's Fired" (with the West Point Cadet Glee Club) and "Semper Fi," which appears on his current album, Proud To Be Here.

Trace Adkins' 10th studio album, PROUD TO BE HERE, debuted at #2 on the Country charts last August. He is currently on the road with his Songs & Stories Tour of intimate theaters across the country.
