Xzibit will premiere 'Concentrate' on MTV2 along with a Makes The Video special on MTV2's Spankin' New
Music Week on Wednesday,
September 27th at 10:00am (ET). 'Concentrate' is the first video from Xzibit's sixth studio album, Full Circle, releasing October 17 through Open Bar Recordst/KOCH Records.
Co-directed by RT! (Sean Paul, Kardinall Offishall, Massari) and
Little X (Jay-Z, Usher, Kanye West, Ludacris), the video was shot in Toronto and utilizes special effects and conceptual imagery with religious overtones along with some synchronized karate imagery.
'Little X and RT! brought the song the visuals it needed. I'm very happy with the way the video turned out. I want everyone to enjoy it!' stated Xzibit.
'Concentrate,' a club anthem produced by Bay Area beat maker Rick Rock is the first single from Xzibit's highly-anticipated sixth studio album. Keith Shocklee of the Bomb Squad (Public Enemy, Ice Cube) and Jelly Roll co-executive produced the album with Xzibit, recorded in Long Island, NY and Los Angeles, CA The album features appearances by DJ Quik, King Tee, The Game, Daz, Kurupt, T-Pain, Too $hort, Donelle Rawlings ('Chappelle's Show') & Jelly Roll, among others.
Xzibit currently co-stars with The Rock in the theatrical release Gridiron Gang, currently No 1 at the box office. The film is based on a true story of a group of young criminals in a correctional facility who gain confidence through football. No stranger to Hollywood, 'X' appeared alongside Eminem in the critically acclaimed Universal Pictures film 8 Mile. In 2003 he joined MTV to host the series 'Pimp My Ride,' which soon became a hit and is now broadcast in over 40 countries. His first major role was in Lee Tamohori's XXX: State of the Union with Ice Cube and Samuel Jackson followed by a supporting role with Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen in Derailed, as well as the voice of Chief Grizzly in the hit animated film Hoodwinked.
