Andrew Browning And The 9 Pound Hammers Releases New Single "Goddamn Girl (If The Love Ain't Gone)"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Channeling the grit of "Smokin' in the Boy's Room," the hook structure of Orange County punk, and the country themes of heartbreak and betrayal, "Goddamn Girl" fires on all eight cylinders! On the band's first, listen, we were itching to hit the dance floor where we could throw down a proper cowboy swing. However, the underlying suffering and the naughty bedroom details of this song are an antidote to the bland Nashville Sound we can never seem to escape.

Originally a honky-tonk cover band from L.A., Andrew Browning and the 9 Pound Hammers have refined their swagger to deliver their second album,The Midnight Desert Talk Radio, which will be released on November 4th, 2022. With Derek O'Brien (Social Distortion, Agent Orange, The Adolescents) engineering and producing, this collection of the genre-bending gonzo country was birthed at DOB Sound in Santa Fe Springs, California.

Although The 9 Pound Hammers hail from all over the U.S. and Europe, they all have the heat and beat of L.A. in their blood. Ilya Portnov (harmonica) was born and raised in Moscow and can summon the devil at the crossroads. Phillip Alan Smith (guitar) comes from a long line of Oklahoma City musical legends influenced by the haunting wind and red dirt that color his high-lonesome, b-bending sound. Lelah Simon (bass) holds it together with her Colorado, Rocky Mountain High altitude, and pin-up girl attitude. Finally, Derek O'Brien (drums) was born and bred in Fullerton, California, and brings his punk rock fire and punch to the band.
If "Goddamn Girl" is any indication of what's hiding on the rest of this record, hold on to your hats as you hop on the mechanical bull.
