Sydney, AU. (SONY BMG MUSIC Entertaintment) -- Pop/punk princess
Avril Lavigne is set to feature on the soundtrack for the upcoming blockbuster 'Eragon' with a brand new track, 'Keep Holding On'. It's yet to be seen whether or not the sting laden number will also appear on Lavigne's highly-anticipated third studio album, currently in the works and due out early 2007, but keep an ear out for it when the fantasy film opens in Aussie cinemas on December 14.
Avril Lavigne will make a big return to the entertainment world with the release of a brand new track entitled 'Keep Holding On' on the soundtrack for the upcoming fantasy film 'Eragon'.
No stranger to the movie world, (she has also appeared in the Richard Gere film 'The Flock' and lent her voice to the toon hit 'Over The Hedge' as the voice of Heather) fans of the newly-wed singer will also be stoked to hear that she's back in the familiar territory of her studio, adding the finishing touches to her third studio album which is due out in early 2007.
This will be her first album since 2004's 'Under My Skin' and Avril says it's going to be a lot happier-sounding than the last:
"I've got to say, this record is going to be so much fun. It's really upbeat. I have a few love songs - it's so funny," she told MTV. "Of course, I still have my boy-bashing songs, but they're very playful. So the record is really fun and cool and different, and honestly I think it's my best record yet. I can say that with confidence."
Collaborating with Rob Cavello (Green Day), Cr Luke (Kelly Clarkson), producer Butch Walker and her new hubby Derryck Whibley, it is yet to be seen whether the album will include 'Keep Holding On', which fans will be able to hear when 'Eragon' hits cinemas here December 14.
Starring Jeremy Irons, Robert Carlisle and John Malkovich, this tale of a young dragon rider named Eragon (played by young spunk Ed Speleers) who fights evil with the aid of a magic dragon is sure to be a summer sensation, a la Lord Of The Rings.
