"A Thousand Years" follows Perri's breakthrough debut album, "lovestrong.," which entered the SoundScan/Billboard 200 among the top 5 upon its release earlier this year. The album - which includes the 2x-platinum certified smash, "Jar of Hearts" - is also shaping up as an unqualified international sensation, with top 5 success in Australia and Ireland as well as top 10 sales in Canada and the United Kingdom.
Perri is slated to make her much anticipated London live debut with a performance at the world famous Monto Water Rats on Tuesday, October 11th. The show will be streamed live via Ustream beginning at 2pm ET - for more information, please see www.christinaperri.com or www.ustream.tv/christinaperri.
"Jar of Hearts" first exploded after being prominently featured on a 2010 episode of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance. Perri soon appeared on the hit series to perform the song live. A number of high profile TV appearances followed, including performances on NBC's The Today Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CBS' Late Show with David Letterman and The Early Show, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, TBS' Conan, MTV's The Seven, and the nationally syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show.
What's more, "Jar of Hearts" was highlighted on May 2011's "Prom Queen" episode of Fox's Glee. The highly rated installment catapulted the song onto the charts, with Perri's original returning to the top 30 on iTunes' "Top Pop Songs" ranking and Glee star Lea Michele's rendition hitting the upper half of Billboard's "Hot 100."
"Jar of Hearts" also scored at radio where it proved a multi-format phenomenon, reaching the top 5 at Hot AC, the top 10 at Mainstream AC, and the top 20 at CHR/Top 40. In addition, the track's companion video hit #1 on VH1's Top 20 Countdown while also receiving heavy rotation at MTV. Furthermore, the "Jar of Hearts" clip remains a YouTube phenomenon with over 38 million views and counting.
"lovestrong." also includes Perri's second hit single "Arms," which soon ascended to the top 15 at Hot AC radio outlets nationwide. The song's companion video earned major rotation on VH1 as well as significant success on YouTube where it has received close to 4 million views so far. As if that weren't enough, the "Arms" lyric video has proven almost as popular, with over 2.5 million views.
An engaging and magnetic live performer, Perri heralded "lovestrong." with a series of acclaimed tours, including dates alongside fellow Atlantic recording artist James Blunt, as well as, her own sold-out headline trek. The latter schedule was highlighted by well-received appearances at such 2011 festivals as Lollapalooza and Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival.
The next chapter of The Twilight Saga will be released as two separate films, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 slated for release on November 16, 2012. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon directed both films, which star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Both The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 are based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, with the screenplays penned by Melissa Rosenberg, and Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.
