Corey Taylor & Aaron Lewis Interviewed By Artistdirect.com
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ RoadRunner Records) Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor was interviewed, along with Staind singer Aaron Lewis, by ArtistDirect.com. Taylor will be appearing at the second annual "It Takes a Community" benefit at the Pines Theater in Northampton, MA on August 20; the show was organized by Lewis, and the proceeds will go to the elementary school his daughter attends.

"It's not all parties in this business," says Taylor about his decision to participate in the benefit. There's a certain amount of luck and karma that comes with it. For me, it only makes sense to try and contribute a little bit where I can and help out if I ever get the opportunity."

Taylor also talks about his songwriting influences, saying, "Growing up, I was obviously into thrash and hardcore punk. It wasn't until I started writing songs that I began tapping into different influences. Obviously, there's stuff like Johnny Cash, which I listened to with my mom or my grandmother. That was something that moved me. There was the music I liked, and then there was the music that inspired me. Alice In Chains was definitely one of those bands. It was a matter of trying to find my own voice and figure everything out."
