New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Fabp aka Fabpz the Freelancer or Peter Atkinson has been in music since the 90s and initially was known as Fabulous P. The new Classic Rap album is the next phase of Fabp's musical journey and shows his unique style of using synths, instrumentals and heavy bass. Fabpz is the writer and producer for all his songs and does a great job at it too. Being an independent artist and music label, he has had the freedom to express his individuality in ways that best suit him.
From musical influences from dancehall, rap and hip-hop, Fabpz has over the years reduced the leanings on Dancehall and focused more on Hip-Hop and rapping. His flow is unique and carries a lot of personal belief. The album opens with "Classical Rap Intro" which serves to introduce the listener to the album which takes off with "Gal Ah Nike." The song shows off Fabpz's considerable rapping skills and he compares his female companion with a fresh pair of Nike shoes. The album moves on to "Yes She Bouncing" which is heavily influenced by Dancehall music. Fabpz's slow rap flows well with the Dancehall groove and the choice of strings, synth and electronic sounds for the instrumental. "Dealing With A Clown" is also produced in the same vein and is a smooth-flowing rap song that allows Fabpz to speak about his longevity in the music industry.

The 12-track album is another quality project from Fabpz the Freelancer that shows off his vocal range and production skills. The sound is clean, and the production does a good job of making the album listenable. Fabpz who is also a graduate of the Institute of Audio Research hopes to use his record label X-Calade Promotionz to push out music to the masses and create buzz. In his own words, his style of music is still evolving and has the potential to be a lot better than he currently is.
Overall, the Classic Rap album is a decent attempt to continue blazing a trail by Fabpz the Freelancer. While this may not be ideal for everyone, there are merits in the effort put into the body of work.
