New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MediaCandy PR) - The Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, which will be held Friday, September 17 through Sunday, September 19, 2010, is excited to announce George Thorogood and the Destroyers with special guests Elvin Bishop and Eddie Shaw will be headlining Friday night. If that's not enough, Friday will also feature guitarist extraordinaire, Jimmie Vaughan, and Saturday will be a night to remember with Galactic with special guest Cyril Neville.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers has been a mainstay of the blues circuit since the early '80's and has earned the respect of blues fans and critics alike. Thorogood's music is simple and direct. While the playing is loud and leans towards rock & roll, Thorogood's riffs and licks are taken straight out of '50s Chicago blues. With and a string of memorable hits such as 'Bad To the Bone,' 'Born To Be Bad' and 'Haircut,' George Thorogood and the Destroyers is sure to set the Telluride Blues & Brews stage on fire. Making a special appearance with George Thorogood and the Destroyers will be Elvin Bishop and Eddie Shaw. Bishop, another veteran of the blues circuit, is best known for his tracks "Travelin' Shoes," "Sure Feels Good" and what would become his biggest hit, "Fooled Around and Fell in Love.' His current record, The Blues Rolls On, features a who's who of blues musicians, including B.B. King, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, George Thorogood, James Cotton, Kim Wilson, Tommy Castro, John Nemeth, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and Angela Strehli. Considered Chicago's No 1 blues horn player, Eddie Shaw has been bringing his fat-toned, blues-drenched saxophone to fans for fifty years, thirty of them as a band leader and vocalist. He's won fans all over the world, and continues to perform constantly, carrying on in the Windy City spirit of his mentor Howlin' Wolf and his friend Magic Sam.

While best known for being the co-founder of The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Stevie Ray's big brother, Jimmie Vaughan, as any fan knows, is a respected artist in his own right. With the Fabulous Thunderbirds, he helped reintroduce an authentic shot of Texas blues into the pop charts and as a solo-artist, Vaughan has set the standard for quality modern roots music. Vaughan's reputation as a guitarist, songwriter and bandleader is seldom matched and he has long held the admiration of his peers, his idols and successive generations of young players.

As previously announced, the jazz, funk and delta blues outfit, Galactic, will be one of the main artists performing at the festival on Saturday night. Telluride Blues & Brews is thrilled to announce that Cyril Neville, one of New Orleans' greatest voices will be joining Galactic for an incredible evening of music. Neville was the vocalist and played congas with the influential and successful band The Meters and contributed to two releases and a tour with the Rolling Stones. In addition to his work with the Neville Brothers, he also founded the New Orleans Musicians Organized (NOMO), which helps musicians who need business advice with their careers. In addition, he has appeared on various other artists' recordings over the years, including albums by Edie Brickell, Jimmy Buffett, Dr. John, Bob Dylan, Daniel Lanois, Willie Nelson, Tab Benoit, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux among others.

True Delta blues is coming to Telluride Blues & Brews with the addition of T-Model Ford. Born in 1921, T-Model Ford waited until he was 58 to start playing the guitar and until he was 75 to start recording. Despite a late start, Ford wasted little time establishing himself as a Mississippi bluesman with deep roots in the Delta. Ford has been shot, stabbed, poisoned, convicted of murder and also spent time on a chain gang and his music incorporates those life experiences to create a potent brand of juke-joint blues. If you are looking for the real deal, look no further than T-Model Ford at Telluride Blues & Brews.

The 17th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival will also feature Allen Toussaint, T-Model Ford, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, JJ Grey & Mofro, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm, Matt Schofield, Alberta Cross, The Dana Fuchs Band, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Gospel Morning with The Otis Taylor Band featuring Chuck Campbell and the Sheryl Renee Choir (Otis Taylor & Chuck Campbell will also be performing at one of the Juke Joints), Phil Wiggins & Corey Harris, Grady Champion, Terrence Simian & the Zydeco Experience, The Sugar Thieves, The Bill Magee Blues Band, Little Al Thomas and The Deep Down Fools. And that's not all! The final line-up for the 17th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, along with a very special Saturday headliner, will be announced on August 16, 2010. Stay tuned!
