Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers Release Full-Length 'Come On Home'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On the heels of their recent premieres of Broken Wings with Post To Wire [LINK], and Heavenly Rain with Mind Equals Blown [LINK], Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers are thrilled to partner up with Mother Church Pew to share with the world their new, full-length album Come On Home. In support of the album dropping, Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers will be playing a record release showcase tonight at Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan, New York. View details on their facebook event HERE.

Come On Home is a collection of 10 finely crafted songs that thematically cover a lot of ground but musically hold true to the stylings of folk, bluegrass and americana. With the exception of one song O Captain, My Captain (which is actually a Walt Whitman poem that Cornell put to music) all the songs offCome On Home are original numbers, the majority of which were written by Cornell and produced by Adam Moss who also plays fiddle on the album.

With three-time Grammy award winning engineer Justin Guip behind the board, the band sounds phenomenal as we really see their musical chops shine through on tracks like the up-tempo bluegrass tune Liars, Betrayers, and Hellhounds, and the cleverly penned story about relationships The Median Song. In addition to the silky smooth backing vocals of band member Amanda Homi and the virtuoso fiddle work of Adam Moss, we even see a guest appearance from critically acclaimed organist Marco Benevento who provides accompaniment on the albums closing track Song For Nick! This final track hits particularly hard as Cornell wrote Song For Nick for a personal friend who was falsely accused of murder in hopes that the song may bring attention to Nick Hillarys legal case.

Over the past few years Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers have appeared at two Folk conferences (Folk Alliance in Kansas City and NERFA in Kerhonksen, NY), performed at Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, toured New England and upstate New York and have played at numerous festivals and venues in and around New York City. Now with a new album and a fall tour on the books Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers are excited to hit the road and share Come On Home with their devoted and ever growing fanbase.
Stream Come On Home:

Greg Cornell & The Cornell Brothers are a Brooklyn-based, four-piece acoustic roots music band that plays original songs heavily influenced by bluegrass, country, old-timey and blues. Cornells songs are influenced as much by his literary heroes (Whitman, Emerson, Thoreau) as they are by his musical ones (John Prine,Gram Parson, Levon Helm, Neil Young, 1970s bluegrass). He writes stories about regret turning to redemption, and holding onto hope through travail.

Tight three-part harmonies and excellent musicianship (guitar, fiddle, standup bass, percussion) carry the stories along, over mountains and fields, down streams to the ocean. The band recently completed recording their second album, Come On Home, in March 2016 at Brooklyn Recording, with Justin Guip (Bow Thayer, David Bromberg, three Grammy Awards with Levon Helm) doing the engineering and mixing. Cornells new songs include stories about immigration, the (in)justice system, The Trail of Tears, betrayal, love, work and, of course, hope.
