New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It's the most wonderful time of the year, everybody. Yes, that's right—it's Helen Love Christmas single time! As well as revealing a new song, the band will also play a Helen Love Christmas Spectacular on 22nd December at The Lexington in London, which is set to be their only London show of 2018.

As this year's Christmas treat Wales' most beloved bubblegum punks are pleased to reveal the suitably bonkers new single 'Glitter Star', a tongue-in-cheek send-up of perennially maddening Channel 4 crafter and Location Location Location presenter Kirstie Allsopp.

It is also perhaps—nay, almost certainly—the only time you will hear Oasis classic 'Live Forever', Blur's 'Song 2' and Billy Idol's 'Dancing With Myself' sampled together on the same song, let alone on a Christmas single.

Vintage Love, I'm sure you'll agree.

Explaining the beef behind this very public roasting, front woman Helen Love says: "It's now almost 2 years since our legendary Twitter clash with Kirstie Allsopp, the queen of making a pile of useless middle class tat into a popular TV series.

"After facing a torrent of abuse from her crafty crafters who put down their glue guns, hung up their Cath Kidston aprons, and raced to their sticky-fingered iPads to defend Her Majesty, we decided this year's Christmas single should be dedicated to her and her tinsel-tasselled followers.

"Merry Christmas to every one of them—may their Glitter Stars always shine like a beacon of hope, may their scissors never blunt, long live their Pritt Sticks, and God Save The Queen."

Helen Love released their eighth studio album titled Smash Hits in 2016 via Alcopop! Records picking up praise from Drowned in Sound, Louder Than War, Q Magazine, Classic Rock, London In Stereo, Punktastic, Upset, Buzz Mag, Digital Spy and more, with radio support from Radcliffe and Maconie, Chris Hawkins and Steve Lamacq at BBC6 Music, and Geoff Lloyd at Absolute Radio.

In the past couple of years the band have enjoyed a resurgence of popularity which has seen them headline Indietracks music festival, appear at Rockaway Beach Fest, DIY Pop Fest and play Primavera in Barcelona; sell out their long-awaited return to London at The Lexington in record time; record a Christmas single with Tim Wheeler (Ash), Ricardo Autobahn, Pete Green (The Sweet Nothings) and Andrea Lewis (Darling Buds); release a stonking Euro 2016 anthem dedicated to Welsh football player Gareth Bale; and drop 2018's long hot summertime smasher of a single 'Double Denim'.

Helen Love's latest album Smash Hits is out now on Alcopop! Records
