New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Hillbilly Herald Official Website) Los Angeles-based rock n' rollers Hillbilly Herald have announced that they will once again be performing with guitar legend
Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators for a handful of dates in select world famous Hollywood venues. The string of up-close and personal shows will consist of
September 23rd at The Troubadour, the 25th at The Roxy, the 26th at The Whisky A Go Go, and then at The Viper Room on the 27th with Hillbilly Herald headlining plus special guests. HH will be performing rare unplugged acoustic sets at the first three shows, including new material from their recently completed new record, in which they worked with Grammy award-winning producer Keith Olsen who has engineered, mixed, and produced for artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Santana, and many others. A release date and title for the new record have yet to be announced. Hillbilly Herald's Viper Room show promises to be a grand finale to what they are calling their "0.8 Miles In 5 Days Tour". The band will be playing their full-length, loud and boisterous set that has made them one of the most talked about unsigned rock n' roll acts of today.
Contrary to KISS bass player Gene Simmons' recent statement that "rock n' roll is finally dead", Hillbilly Herald have proved that it is alive and well through tough work ethic, perseverance, and an ever-growing fan base across North America. Since 2008, Hillbilly Herald has toured the US and Canada on their own and with internationally-known acts like
Slash and glam-metal jokers Steel Panther, playing festivals and motorcycle rallies, all the while releasing records, outrageous music videos and an old school-style video game based on the band. While most bands today in any genre heavily rely on modern avenues like social media to gain fans and sell their music & merchandise, Hillbilly Herald has gained the bulk of their vast fan base by landing direct support slots on big North American tours and leaving more than an impression on big crowds via their unforgettable stage show.
The band consists of lead vocalist Jimmy Herald from Elkhart, IN, bassist Adam Wolf from Los Angeles, lead guitar player Brian Ceballos from Kauai, HI, drummer Louie Riel from Ontario, Canada, and recently hand-picked from a long line of online auditions, rhythm guitar player Gary
Martin from Pittsburgh, PA. "Every member of this band has a great talent and heart and everyone who came into this band threw everything they thought they knew out the window, and put their work ethic first," explains Herald.
Herald—who grew revering Guns N' Roses—has been honored to tour with his icon,
Slash saying, "The first time I heard Appetite For Destruction it changed my life." The two met while Herald was working as a bartender at Hamburger Hamlet in Sherman Oaks. "Slash would come in, and we'd talk about music. I'd never sung a note in my life and
Slash had never seen me play but he could see my passion and he encouraged me to go for it." A year later Herald's making music, gigging all over LA and passing out his demos. He reconnected with
Slash at the 2010 Sunset Strip
Music Festival and filled him in on the band's progress and plans for the future.
The two met up again over dinner, and Herald says, "Now try to grasp this, here you are sitting next to someone who, as a kid, growing up in Indiana, you emulated and watched every move, and now that very same rock star is sitting next to you telling you, 'Your band is about all the right things and it's going to happen.' It was the most surreal and gratifying moment of my life."
