New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today Houndmouth returns with their first new music since 2019, sharing two new, original songs "Good For You" and "Cool Jam." These tracks, recorded with Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, Hiss Golden Messenger) and mixed by Jon Ashley (The War On Drugs, B.J. Barham), find the Indiana-bred, platinum-selling band - vocalist/guitarist Matthew Myers, drummer/vocalist Shane Cody, and bassist/vocalist Zak Appleby - making their debut for Dualtone Records.

"Good For You" sets an opulent, anachronistic scene for a narrator down on their luck. "Chartreuse and chandeliers / fancy that, seeing you out here," sings Matthew Myers as he depicts a moment of romantic reckoning ("had a drink and an episode") set in the shadow of Kentucky Derby pageantry. The band's harmonies imbue the languid breakup song with a weary optimism, as Myers mutters, "What a night, what a night." Listen here:https://youtu.be/OH5f3VtCPSE

Meanwhile, "Cool Jam" eulogizes a doomed romance with a surrealist touch, setting the mundane against a backdrop of faded dignity. Bad breaks arrive in a limousine and Cinderella rubs elbows with degenerates selling loosies outside the Kum & Go, all as the band conveys the slow realization that the magic is gone atop a bed of celestial organs. Listen to "Cool Jam" here: https://youtu.be/imi15tPsSOk

And watch a live performance of "Good For You" from the band's Green House headquarters in Indiana. The Green House is a 19th-century shotgun-style house decked out in gold wallpaper and crystal chandeliers that used to belong to Cody's grandparents, as evidenced by the stairlift Myers rides into frame at the top of this performance:https://youtu.be/gStQuJIJ8Wg

Known for their "shaggy, swinging, big-screen storytelling" (NPR), Houndmouth has received praise from USA Today, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NME, Relix and many more. They've performed at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and SXSW as well as on CBS This Morning Saturday, Conan, Letterman and more. They are currently gearing up for their first post-pandemic tour dates, including Webster Hall in NYC, DC's Lincoln Theater, and two nights at Thalia Hall in Chicago. See full dates below.
