Indie Folk-rock Artist Shane Casey Shares Narrative Album 'Silver Star'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie folk-rock artist and singer-songwriter Shane Casey releases his new album Silver Star today. A moving and insightful release, the album follows the life of a man who has just lost his father, sharing his struggle and journey until he finds newfound joy with the birth of his son. Bringing together a lively blend of contemporary folk and Americana, alongside classic rock and indie influences, Casey and his band deliver a must-listen release. Narrative storylines and sweeping choruses pull at the heart in nostalgic reflection. Folk N' Rock premiered the album, saying, "with its enthralling storytelling, radiant harmonies, and combination of classic folk rock and indie influences, Casey has created an album that is poignant, nostalgic, and joyful."
"While the recording process took about a year, the idea itself started a long time ago. I probably wrote "Oh Father" in my early twenties, along with "Mariana" and "Landslide"," shared Casey. "At first, these songs were just ways to talk about how I felt towards the death of my own father and the distance it put between me and his side of the family. I wrote "Songbird" a couple years later on a balcony in Ocean City, Maryland; that's where I had the idea to start taking these thoughts and fusing them into a character that was similar to me, but dealing with different circumstances. I remember sitting on the beach with my friends, excitedly brainstorming ideas about the different themes of the album and the story itself. It's really come a long way since then."

Channeling his own emotions and experiences into a fictional character, Casey's story blooms into a brilliant narrative that all will find an aspect to relate to. "I wanted to make a very relatable story, but vague and told mostly through imagery," explained Casey. "It's heavily based off the bands I was listening to at the time I wrote the songs. You can hear The Lumineers, Iron & Wine, and Bon Iver in a lot of these tracks, along with many others. This album delivers raw and emotional lyrics both through soft acoustic segments, and thunderous guitar riffs." Casey connected with drummer Joex Marotta as a neighbor years ago, and bassist Keith Macadoo through the introduction. Guitarist Brian Lawrey joined on lead guitar, building a dynamic crew to bring the songs to life.

Combining a blend of contemporary and timeless influences, Casey and his band build a robust story to draw listeners in. Soaring across experiences of grief, angst, and longing, the album comes full circle to find acceptance, perseverance, and happiness; connecting and empowering those who find themselves on similar journeys, to know they aren't alone. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered by John Roccesano at Silver Horse Sound. Silver Star is out everywhere today, including Bandcamp, Spotify, and Apple Music.

ABOUT SHANE CASEY: Shane Casey is a singer-songwriter from New Jersey. Accompanied by Keith Macadoo on bass, Joex Marotta on drums, and the enigmatic Brian Lawrey on lead guitar; he has been writing original music for over a decade. This group has spent the past year recording and producing their latest project, Silver Star, which is a concept album chronicling the life of a man; from the death of his father to the birth of his son. This album manages to perfectly capture the sound of contemporary folk music whilst adding a distinct classic rock influence to the mix. The blending of these styles comes together to form a nostalgic and undeniably catchy experience for the listener.
