Jazz Vocalist Kris Russell Releases New Single "I Concentrate On You" Celebrating Cole Porter's Musical Legacy And His Historic 125th Birthday
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Early in her education as a vocalist, Russell was heavily influenced by Cole Porter's music, which is why she chose to release Cole Porter's "I Concentrate on You". Honoring Cole Porter's musical legacy, Kris Russell is excited to build on that momentum with the launch of her new single in Europe and the US, coinciding with the beloved composer and lyricist's historic 125th birthday celebration.

Cole Porter's music was groundbreaking and sophisticated and Kris Russell's CD features a groundbreaking new arrangement of "I Concentrate On You" that is stunningly beautiful. Growing up in a family of jazz musicians, Kris was exposed to all forms of jazz, including the music of Cole Porter in her formative years. She began developing her sophisticated and elegant style after listening to all the greatest jazz singers, such as Anita O'Day, June Christy, Julie London, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney and Ella Fitzgerald. Heavily influenced by the sounds of bossa nova, Russell listened to Brazilian legends Maros K. Valle, Astrud Gilberto, Ellis Regina, Lenny Andrade and the legendary Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Kris continues to perform the great American songbook, bossa nova, samba and all the great jazz standards. Backed by a full symphony and Richard Rome's lush and beautiful arrangement, Kris Russell expresses her pure and natural voice in her version of Cole Porter's beloved, classic jazz standard. Her aspiration with this song is to be a first-rate version of herself and express herself as an original.

Russell effortlessly blends the early, powerful influences of the other great jazz vocalists into her sophisticated style of singing. Kris says her ability to produce her own CD has been a wonderful gift and she is looking forward to producing and releasing another CD in 2016. Her new CD gained attention earlier in 2015 when Kris appeared as a co-host on KUNV 91.5 FM's "Jazz Traditions with the Jazz Masters" in Las Vegas and also "Networking Experts" on KDWN 720 AM. Russell has a Pandora Radio station and is gaining airtime with EBS Media, K-Jazzy Radio, WJMX Smooth Jazz Boston, WDGP Radio Marlboro and other stations that are playing her CD.

Her CD can be purchased on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, CD Baby and at other retailers. She is currently gaining more radio airplay through distribution in the US and elsewhere. Her website is https://www.krisrusselljazz.com.
