Out Today: Ferris & Sylvester's New EP I Should Be On A Train
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ferris & Sylvester have released their new EP I Should Be On A Train, out now via LAB Records. With the release of this five-track EP, the British duo of Issy Ferris & Archie Sylvester - who won Emerging Artist at the 2020 Americana UK Awards - continue their series of EPs that further prove why they are "a rising force in music [with] a sound that is absolutely unique" (BBC).

I Should Be On A Train was born in the back of a van in Vienna while the duo toured with Jade Bird in early 2020. By listening to acts like Brittany Howard and Fleetwood Mac on the road, Ferris & Sylvester created a collection filled with a message of overpowering love.

Once at home in the English countryside with a newly open diary, they recorded these five songs. The EP captures the artistic breadth of this dynamic duo; it's a sonic masterpiece that perfectly exemplifies Ferris & Sylvester's unique brand of "dreamy folk-pop" (Cowboys & Indians). The EP's title track is filled with "powerfully raw fire...full of soaring vocal harmonies, organ, a ton of roaring guitar" (Mother Church Pew), while wistfully psychedelic "Knock You Down" embraces the duo's inner child, channeling the lessons they learned in their early years overflowing with youthful anti-establishment exuberance. Each song, from the reflective "Everyone Is Home" to their stunning and rollicking rendition of The Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends," came to life as they watched the world dramatically change in the hopes of conveying a message of togetherness and resilience in the uncertainty of shutdown.
