"Mister Mystery" was recorded and produced at Echo Underground Studios by Dan Kalisher, known for working with
Jesse McCartney and several contenders of the television show The Voice. Connected through mutual friends, the two found a harmonious relationship as Kalisher immediately identified with Petrella's artistic perspective, to help impeccably capture the storytelling of her work. The inspiration behind the track started " after a night with someone I was particularly curious about. While setting up the theme for this track with Dan, we tossed around words like spy, dangerous, and secretive. I think the story and the sound blended together in an incredible way I'm very proud of", says Sarah. Opening with a cinematic punch, Petrella's latest release, "Mister Mystery" is a hypnotic single with seductive undertones and a western flair that is absolutely beguiling. Pining after the mysterious figure of affection, Petrella recognizes he is in emotional pain and offers that she has what he needs, a rendezvous as the morphine to numb this affliction. She paints a heated picture of desire as she pleas, "Mister Mystery, won't you come on home with me" throughout the song. The dark and mysterious aesthetic of the Americana guitar riffs enhance the image Petrella paints of a midnight affair perfectly, while the dynamic vibe of the bass and rhythm anticipate the tension that rises throughout the track. Petrella shifts from an intimate whisper to a belting vocal display, showcasing her powerful range paired with the explosive energy of the music, which further heightens the ferocity of this affair. Sarah Petrella was born and raised in Encinitas, California, with a love for music that began at the early age of six. Her involvements in musicals began a devotion that would lead to exploring her own creativity through songwriting.
