'Si' Helps Andrea Bocelli Achieve 2 Million Sales In Australia!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In the year of his 60th birthday and more than 20 years since his debut release "Romanza", global classical music icon Andrea Bocelli has reached 2 million overall album sales in Australia, following the release of his first album of new material in 14 years - Sì. The new album has also made its debut at #7 in the overall ARIA charts and at #1 in the ARIA Crossover charts.

Of his enduring popularity in Australia, Andrea Bocelli says: "It is with great pleasure and happiness that I welcome the news that sales of my albums in Australia have just achieved 2 million sales, with the release of "Sì". I am also thrilled to hear that this new album has debuted in the Top Ten overall chart and No. 1 in the Crossover charts. Ever since my first visit to Australia in 2000 for the Olympic Arts Festival, your country has embraced my music, and I hope my new album, with its messages of faith and hope, love and family, will find new friends and bring joy to many. I very much look forward to performing in Australia again soon."

His new album has captivated audiences around the world and features Andrea collaborating with artists including Ed SHeeran, Josh Groban, Dua Lipa, Russian soprano Aida Garifullina, and his 21-year-old son Matteo Bocelli. Uniquely for a classical artist, their duet 'Fall on Me' has become a viral hit around the world with its music video garnering more than 21 million views in just five weeks, while charting on streaming playlists globally.

George Ash says: "Twenty years ago, Andrea Bocelli made a huge impact on the Australian cultural scene with the release of his album "Romanza", with its hit duet "Time to Say Goodbye" where his duet partner was Sarah Brightman. The now iconic album scaled the top of the charts, and Andrea Bocelli was established as the pioneer among crossover artists. Many albums and visits to Australia followed, each making an impact, and now with the release of "Sì", Universal Music Australia is proud to celebrate another milestone for a great artist with a staggering 2 million albums sold. It is a huge achievement for any artist and one that we are very proud of. Our heartfelt thanks to Andrea, and of course Sugar Music and Decca, for continuing to bring us music that truly resonates with the widest possible public."

One of the most universally loved and recognizable performers on the planet, Andrea Bocelli has sold in-excess of 90 million albums to date. 'Fall on Me' also appears in the end credits of Disney's latest feature film 'The Nutcracker and The Four Realms' starring Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman which debuts in Australian cinemas on 22 November. 'Sì' was recorded at Bocelli's home in Italy and produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Thirty Seconds To Mars).
