Texas Bluesman Johnny Nicholas Previews New 'Future Blues' LP In NYC + At Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble In May
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Texas bluesman Johnny Nicholas will preview his stunning new album 'Future Blues' in May at Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble on Saturday 5/21 and at Hill Country BBQ in NYC on Thursday 5/26. Nicholas, a former member of Asleep At The Wheel, has led a number of bands and performed with a who's-who of blues talent over the past four decades including Big Walter Johnson, Johnny Shines, Snooky Prior and Robert Lockwood Jr. He has shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Jimmie Vaughan and Delbert McClinton and many others. "Johnny Nicholas is one of the best Bluesmen ever, Black or White," said the late Stephen Bruton.

Johnny's band will include slide guitarist Cindy Cashdollar (Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Paul Butterfield), bassist Bruce Hughes (Jason Mraz, Bob Schneider, The Resentments) and guitarist Scrappy Jud Newcomb (Ian McLagan, The Resentments).

'Future Blues' reunites Nicholas, Hughes, and Cashdollar after their successful collaboration with Geoff Muldaur, Bruton and Jim Kweskin on the 2008 acoustic blues Texas Sheiks project. More album details will be revealed soon.
