The Dove & The Wolf consists of the joint songwriting team of Paloma Gil and Lou Hayat, who have been playing together for more than 10 years. They began this project back in 2012 and quickly received acclaim from outlets such as Brooklyn Vegan, Nowness, Urban Outfitters and The New York Times T Magazine.

The band spent the majority of 2014-2015 touring the US with artists like Rachael Yamagata, Butch Walker, and Hemming. At the end of 2015, The duo who are now based in Philadelphia were required to return to France to renew their visas, which was the impetus for this EP.

The tension from their autumn in Paris is the thread that pulls their new five-track EP I Dont Know What to Feel through the familiar hunger of youth into a reckoning with mortality that only the lucky can forget to need. Within it, The Dove & The Wolfs bright-eyed sound matures into a more haunting kind, straddling indie rock, dream pop and jangle pop. Somber undertones reminiscent of the Cocteau Twins twist through melodies, with pregnant guitar riffs and a sound that brings Fleetwood Mac to mind.

"We spent the past year touring the entire country, and at first when we were back in Paris, there was just this big gap of waiting," explains Lou. "That affects everything: the people that youre meeting, the way you think about your relationships. Each day we thought we might be leaving the next day. We were waiting for our lives to resume.

When Lou and Paloma returned to Philadelphia, they put a band together with drummer Craig Hendrix (Japanese Breakfast, Auctioneer, Jesse Hale Moore, Birdie Busch) and bass player Andy Black (Laser Background). They tracked the songs live with their new band members and Jesse Hale Moore on keys. I Dont Know What To Feel was recorded and produced by Dave Hartley (The War On Drugs, Nightlands) and Nick Krill (The Spinto Band, Teen Men), at Daves studio in Fishtown, Philadelphia in March 2016.

The EP will be officially released on June 17th and they will celebrate with an EP release show on June 15th at Johnny Brenda's in Philadelphia, PA.
