Square Music announces the signing of innovative folk rockers The Low Anthem to a worldwide label deal. The band is set to release their fourth studio album this spring as a follow up to the highly acclaimed Smart Flesh and Oh My God, Charlie Darwin, followed by extensive touring in the U.S. and abroad.

Providence, Rhode Island�s The Low Anthem formed in 2006 where founding members Ben Knox Miller and Jeffrey Prystowsky met through late night college radio, later becoming baseball teammates and eventually bandmates. They began making their idiosyncratic bedroom folk in 2007, best friends constructing something altogether new from old musical traditions. Since formation the band has released three albums, each created in unique recording spaces. The band�s most recent release Smart Flesh (Bella Union), recorded in an abandoned pasta sauce factory, received critical acclaim from outlets like Paste, NPR, Rolling Stone and The AV Club amongst others. The Low Anthem has performed on such shows as The Late Show with
David Letterman and Later� with Jools Holland. They have toured with numerous artists including The
Avett Brothers as well as opening for
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The National,
Emmylou Harris and Bon Iver.
The Low Anthem is Ben Knox Miller, Jeff Prystowsky, Florence
Grace Wallis, and Bryan Minto. The Low Anthem is managed by
Danny Goldberg of Gold Village Entertainment and represented for touring by Marty Diamond of Paradigm (US and Canada) and Nick Holroyd of Primary Talent (UK and Europe).
The Low Anthem is the latest signing to Washington Square, the alternative-leaning imprint formed by Razor & Tie. The band joins label mates My Jerusalem, MOTHXR, Austin Plaine and Soren Bryce.
