NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ VH1) - VH1 Classic and MHD will exclusively broadcast the U.S. 2-hour premiere of the "Hard Rock Calling Festival" on Friday, August 1 beginning at 9:00PM ET/PT. The two-day festival which was filmed live on June 28 and 29 in London's legendary Hyde Park served as the setting of The Police's final UK performance. The festival also featured headliner Eric Clapton, along with John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, The Bangles, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Jason Mraz, and KT Tunstall.

The "Hard Rock Calling Festival" featured two top musical icons, The Police along with blues legend Eric Clapton. Festival goers were treated to the last UK performance of The Police, as the crowd sang along to their top hits, including, "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic," "Message in a Bottle" and "I Can't Stop Losing You." Eric Clapton brought his blues rock guitar for the event and sent the crowd of 35,000 into a frenzy with highlights including, "Tell The Truth" and "Layla," while Sheryl Crow's country tinged pop songs and John Mayer's bluesy ballads roused fans. The festival saw classic 80's rock band, The Bangles, reunite and welcomed a new wave of performers including: KT Tunstall, Jason Mraz, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The finale brought one of the most magical moments of the evening as John Mayer, Robert Randolph, and Sheryl Crow joined Eric Clapton for a show stopping encore of "Crossroads."
