New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Grammy-nominated Nashville singer-songwriter Will Hoge has premiered his 11th studio album Anchors with AllMusic. The album is out tomorrow via Thirty Tigers.
All
Music writes, "his gifts as a lyricist and melodist are prodigious, and they're on ample display on tracks like the world-weary 'This Grand Charade' and the borderline-bawdy 'This Ain't An Original Sin.'"
Elmore Magazine calls Anchors "stunning" and his "strongest album" to date. The Daily Country says, "Hoge employs every weapon in his vast musical arsenal to deliver what may be his finest work yet," and the Americana
Music Show writes, "every tune here displays his mastery as a songwriter and performer,"
Rolling Stone Country premiered Anchors' rootsy debut single "Little Bit Of Rust," featuring guest vocals from
Sheryl Crow (listen HERE). The Tennessean debuted "Baby's Eyes," noting, "fans of
Tom Petty and The Byrds will find a lot to love in its steady groove, and the sweet morsels of 12-string guitar and glockenspiel chiming in on the refrain" (listen HERE). American Songwriter premiered "As Young As We Will Ever Be," calling it "a rollicking, Springsteen-esque rocker with a killer guitar solo" (listen HERE). The Boot premiered "17," a "breeezy, nostalgic" track that was inspired by hearing his two sons making music in the family garage.
In between working on his own music and crafting hit songs for others (Eli Young Band, Lady Antebellum), Hoge is busy with the launch of Nashville Elcectric Transportation, his new Tesla-only electric car service. Read about it here and here.
Hoge will embark on US tour in August, which will include a performance at this year's AmericanaFest.
