Genre Blender Ciqala Debuts With Dark Electro-Rock Track 'Caving'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ciqala is the new musical vehicle of Israeli artist and singer-songwriter, Yafit Rahamim-Fleisher, who has teamed up with producer Shai Pelled to form the dark and evocative electro-rock single, 'Caving'.

Influenced by a wide range of artists, most notably, Depeche Mode, and brit-pop acts such as Blur, Pulp and Suede, Ciqala's music borrows a little bit from every corner of the musical world. The result is a pop-hooked brand of electronically infused alt-rock that is driven by heavy drums and ethereal vocals, backed up by substantial, captivating lyricism and a balance in musical dynamism that simultaneously intrigues, enchants and ensnares.

Despite this, Ciqala is also drawn to film music by the likes of Danny Elfman, and the soundtracks of 80s esoteric TV series such as The Tripods and Chocky, which explains the highly visual and cinematic nature of the music Ciqala is making.

The concept behind Ciqala is inspired primarily by native American culture, the name literally translating as 'little one' in Lakota, a native language originating from Dakota. Couple this with themes of spiritualism, simplicity, science and the purity of nature, and you have a powerful vision that encapsulates the work of Ciqala.

Although this is Ciqala's debut single, the talented artist is no stranger to the music industry, having previously performed under the moniker of Y-Fi where her music was labelled as 'an electronic journey into the human soul'. Consequently, one can see where Ciqala finds her electro tendencies and these play a significant role in forming her eclectic and innovative sound.
