NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - The global summit on climate changes is taking place in Cancun, Mexico, right now, ending on December 10. Top40 Charts group news asked our founders Markos Giannopoulos and Paris Kazakis, about their and our magazine's thoughts:

What are your reflections on the climate meeting in Mexico?

Firstly, we believe in vigorous climate programs in companies and we contribute by setting long-term, clear and aggressive environmental targets. In Top40 Charts, we will tirelessly continue our own efforts to reduce emissions in terms of both CO2 and water and will continue our investments in renewable energy sources. It is crucial to apply an effective control system for emissions and improvement activities. The latter of these issues is one of the items that is high on the agenda in Cancun.

Does the summit have any relevance to Top40 Charts and our work?

For Top40 Charts, with operations all over the globe, it is of great importance to reach international agreements and regulations in order to obtain equal economic conditions. Trading in emission rights is one concrete example.

Differences between how rich and poor countries address environmental issues are often highlighted. Any truth in this?

It is vital that know-how relating to green technology and other resources is transferred to developing countries to support the transition to a new, efficient technology in the energy sector and in other industrial/services sectors globally by resolving a number of key questions in technology cooperation.
Top40 Charts has an important part of its business in developing markets. Through our work we support development in these countries, same time as it contributes to our company's continuous growth.

Anything else that is key from our perspective?

For Top40 Charts, it is crucial that the issue of energy consumption is addressed, including the method used in the future to calculate forestry's absorption and emissions of CO2 and as a next step reward reducing energy consumption management where there's a net growth in standing volumes.
