311's 30th Anniversary Shines A Light On Unity Amongst Fans
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of 311, one of modern rock music's most beloved bands and one of alt-radio's most successful acts. Three decades after forming in Omaha, NE, the band is still together with its original lineup, releasing music and performing around the world. Amidst the numerous unfortunate circumstances this year, 311's 30th Anniversary has brought fans together, showcasing a band whose devoted fanbase feels more like a massive extended family.

311 is celebrating their three decades together this month with a free stream of their Mardi Gras concert in New Orleans, from earlier this year, called 311 Live From Mardi Gras 2020, offering a way for fans to experience the magic of a 311 live show, considering live touring plans for this Summer and Fall had to be put on-hold due to obvious reasons. The concert will premiere Saturday, August 15th through Direct TV at 8pm PT (Channel 104/105) and at FanTracks.com at 6pm PT.

In honor of the band's milestone, both 311 fans and peers from around the world have shown their love for the group, including congratulatory shout-out videos from Snoop Dogg, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Tony Kanal of No Doubt, Venus Williams, Jose Pasillas of Incubus, Noodles of the Offspring and Eric Rachmany of Rebelution. Many more are set to post throughout the year including Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Method Man of Wu Tang Clan, Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction, and more. Check it out here.

Fans have also collaborated on a massive project independently from the band, joining together via at-home video to perform the song "Tranquility". When the band found out about this endeavor, they gave the video their blessing with frontman, Nick Hexum, joining the project. Watch the new fan-made live video for "Tranquility," here. Another fan video is in the works for release later this month for the song "I'll Be Here Awhile."

"Reaching our 30 year anniversary as a band has been a dream come true. To think of all the sights and sounds along the way has made for an incredible scrapbook of memories with more to come. We're truly grateful for this milestone and for our dedicated fans; an incredible community, who continue to inspire our journey. Many thanks!" - Nick Hexum (311 singer/guitarist)

Starting in mid-August, 311 will begin a 9-part webisode series, called "30 Years of 311", which will feature 7-minute video clips spanning the band's career. This will be posted on 311's online social channels every Wednesday. Later this year, 311 plans to stream other past concerts online. Stay tuned for more details.

311 was formed in 1990 in the city of Omaha, Nebraska. The group still features its original lineup 30 years later including drummer Chad Sexton, singer / guitarist Nick Hexum, singer SA Martinez, guitarist Tim Mahoney, and bassist P-Nut. At 30 years old, 311 has become one of the longest running original lineups in rock music, joining an elite list of other original lineup units like U2 and Radiohead. Over their history, 311 have released thirteen studio albums, two greatest hits albums, two live albums, three DVD's and a boxed-set and have sold over 9 million copies in the U.S. Ten albums reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Top 200 Sales Chart - and nine of their singles have reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Alternative Radio Chart (including three #1 singles "Down", "Love Song" & "Don't Tread On Me" - along with "Amber", "All Mixed Up", "Come Original", "Creatures (For Awhile)", "Hey You" and "Sunset in July"). The band's most recent album 'VOYAGER' was released in June 2019 via BMG. The 13-track album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer John Feldmann (Blink-182, Panic! At the Disco) and longtime collaborator/ live engineer Scotch Ralston.
