NEW YORK (AFI Official Website) -
A.F.I. is hitting the road again in support of its current album,
Sing The Sorrow, and its new single,
"The Leaving Song Part II." Guitarist Jade Puget said that he never had any ambitions for the song before playing it for singer Davey Havok.
"I wrote that song and never thought it would be an
A.F.I. song," Puget said. "And then I played it for Dave one day and he came up with that melody which was really cool, and we just started jamming on it. And we both really liked it. And then we just ended up going to
Dexter from the Offspring's studio and recording it a long time ago. And we all knew, kind of, this is a really good song and we should just put it on the album just like it is."
A.F.I. singer Davey Havok and guitarist Jade Puget have announced a side project that they call Blaqk Audio. The group describes the music as electronic and plan to write most of it while on the road this fall. They plan to record and release Blaqk Audio's debut disc in early 2004.
