NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Birthed deep in the heart of the Texas hill country, baptized in the Brazos, and fed on a steady diet of deeply American rock and roll, Gov't Mule's first album in three years has grown up to be "big and fat and nasty" (AMG). It's called 'By A Thread' and it's out this week. You can stream the full album in its entirety this week on AOL Spinner here: https://www.spinner.com/new-releasesNo /18. Already hailed by the Washington Post as "the heaviest, and most aggressive... in years" 'By a Thread' is a thumping, blues-fueled rock album, with sharp songwriting and some of Mule's tastiest and freshest playing yet on record.

Rolling Stone's David Fricke says: "The songs are ready" - describing Warren Haynes' guitar sound as evoking "Cream with lava and Hendrix wah-wah." Read more here: https://bit.ly/MR9Pn

After the opening bass guitar salvos of "Broke Down on the Brazos" the listener is hit with a twin guitar attack: Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) on one side and Warren Haynes on the other.

Haynes, drummer Matt Abts and guitarist/keyboardist Danny Louis keep their foot on the gas for many of 'Thread's' 11 tracks, though songs like the high-lonesome "Railroad Boy" and the earthy soul/island skank of "Frozen Fear" show off versatility and a newfound breadth. The songs are ready indeed.
