Blues-Rock Guitarist And Guitar Center's King Of The Blues Randy Scott To Release Debut Album "Out Of The Blue" On June 18, 2013

Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts / Randy Scott) Up-and-coming blues-rock guitarist, vocalist and Guitar Center's 4th Annual King of the Blues Randy Scott will release his debut album Out Of The Blue on June 18. Produced by multi-platinum, multi GRAMMY-winner Pete Anderson and backed by Gary Novak (drums), Travis Carlton (bass) from Robben Ford 's band, and Jeff Babko (keys) from Larry Carlton 's band, the album features guitar legend Albert Lee who calls Scott "one of the best blues guitarists I've heard come along in a long time."

On 13 tracks, Scott fills Out Of The Blue with his fiery style and virtuosic playing. Albert Lee lends fretwork to the songs "Mean-Hearted Woman" and "Hell To Pay." Other standout tracks include the rollicking opener "Ramblin' Man Blues ," funky "Never Enough," jazzy "Nothin' But A Thang," and ballad "Kisses Like Cherries."



The album release follows the April 5 premiere of a new multi-episode reality TV show on MAVTV called "Chasing The Dream," starring Scott. The show follows Randy, a hard working musician, through the trials and tribulations of the road. The show will begin airing in full for a second time later this month. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Randy Scott drew early inspiration from his father's vinyl collection, which included B.B. King , Ray Charles , and Big Momma Thornton. After learning guitar chords from a relative at age 11, Scott went on to graduate from the Guitar Institute. He spent years struggling to make an impact in the music business and grew increasingly frustrated. Eventually, Scott stopped playing completely and sold every guitar he had. "When I stopped playing music, all I knew was that I wanted to get far away from it. I cut my hair, worked for a computer company and turned all my radio stations to AM talk radio. I felt that the music world had let me down, so I wanted to distance myself from it."

Nine years later, Scott was waiting for some friends at a restaurant when he wandered into a Guitar Center. The store manager heard him playing and suggested he enter their annual King of the Blues competition, the nationwide search for the next great undiscovered blues guitar player. He entered and went on to beat out over 4,000 contestants nationwide and five fellow finalists at House of Blues Los Angeles to be crowned the 4th Annual King of The Blues. Guitar World, one of the contest judges, called his playing "extremely tasteful." Along with gear and a cash prize, Scott received endorsement deals from Gibson, Ernie Ball , Boss and Egnater.

Now, Scott has stormed back to the music scene as the new guitar gunslinger from out of nowhere. Out Of The Blue marks his triumphant return to his first love and passion: music.

Randy has opened for Paul Rodgers , Edgar Winter , Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Grand Funk's Mark Farner , Robben Ford and other notables. He was recently voted "Best Upcoming Blues Artist" by Ameriblues.com. Last month, Randy became the first artist this year to be inducted into the Canada Blues Museum.
