George Lopez are teaming up as co-headliners for "Divine Rascals," a series of shows slated for

The Divine Rascals itinerary includes performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO (Sept. 3-4); Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA (Sept. 24); Sleep Train Pavilion at Concord in Concord, CA (Sept. 25); and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 1). "I'm delighted to be going on the road with George Lopez," says Carlos Santana. "Besides giving me the chance to perform alongside a dear friend, these shows take me back to the grand old Bill Graham days, when different kinds of entertainment were featured on the same bill. Divine Rascals will be a joyous experience."
Carlos and the Santana Band will perform classics from the group's four-decades-long career, and spotlight songs from Santana's latest album, Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time (2010, Arista Records). With its release, Santana joined the Rolling Stones as one of only two music acts in Billboard chart history to score at least one Top Ten album in each decade from the 1960s through the present.
One of the entertainment industry's premier comedic talents, George Lopez's standup artistry has been featured in two HBO Comedy Specials, most recently 2009's Tall, Dark and Chicano. Currently the host of Lopez Tonight, Lopez is a multi-talented entertainer whose career encompasses television, film, and live performance. His groundbreaking sitcom George Lopez ran for six seasons on ABC, and remains a hit in syndication. Most recently, he voiced the character Rafael in the animated blockbuster, Rio.
The Divine Rascals dates are scheduled during Santana's coast-to-coast, North American (SOCC) Sound of Collective Consciousness Tour, which kicks off August 25 in Seattle and wraps in Palm Springs on September 30. Tour dates will feature special guest Michael Franti & Spearhead.
Ever since Santana emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area music scene in the late 1960s, the group has sold more than 100 million records and reached more than 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. To date, Santana has won ten GRAMMY Awards, including a record-tying nine for a single project, 1999's Supernatural (including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for "Smooth"). In 1998, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, whose website notes, "Guitarist Carlos Santana is one of rock's true virtuosos and guiding lights." Among many other honors, Carlos Santana has also been cited by Rolling Stone Magazine as No 15 on its list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."
