New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Cumbrian punks COLT 45 are pleased to reveal the full version of an in-depth studio documentary charting the writing and recording of their forthcoming new EP 'Snakes & Ladders' which is released on 29th April 2016 and available to preorder on iTunes now.

"For this EP we didn't need to put 36 guitar tracks on a chorus or spend a day getting the reverb effect we wanted for a bridge, there was none of that" say the band of the process behind recording the new material "The drums and bass went down live, and we didn't spend much time layering the guitar. There's only three of us in the band, so we can't do all that live anyway. We think it's all the better for being an EP, because it's only about 15 minutes long and there's no filler, and it's just us doing what we do best."

The band have also just been announced for several festivals, including Camden Rocks and Rebellion Fests plus a brace of smaller local events around Cumbria, including their EP launch show at local Mecca and music venue The Brickyard on 29th April. Commenting on the new live shows, drummer Adam Lewis says:
"Camden Rocks is big news for us. There are some really big bands playing this year and every venue in Camden just comes alive for it - and you can imagine what Camden's like just on a normal weekend.

After that we've got Rebellion Fest in Blackpool, and that's one of the biggest punk festivals in Europe. We do consider ourselves to be punk, because it's not just about how the music sounds, it's about your approach to it and that DIY ethic. You don't need a Mohican and a denim jacket to be punk - we're hardly the Sex Pistols, but that's always something that we're going to identify with.

There are also loads of little festivals we're playing in Cumbria this year - things we didn't know even existed. Our local fanbase and the local exposure is really where it's at for us."

Recently winning national plaudits from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese Magazine, BBC Radio One and more, COLT 45 are a testament to the phrase substance over style. Merging heartfelt, small-town frustration with melodic punk anthems and contagious hooks, the trio have worked their way up from the bottom by gigging relentlessly.

Having recently toured Germany for the first time and completing further UK tours with The Computers and subsequently FAUX, the band are now gathering an impressive set of notches on the touring and festival posts, with more live dates and further new material in the works for 2016.
'Snakes & Ladders' is released 29th April 2016 via Visible Noise Records
