New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) - Last night Corinne Bailey Rae launched her first North American tour in three years with a sold-out benefit show for Santa Monica-based public radio station KCRW (89.9 FM and KCRW.com). This special evening at Vibiana, a historic cathedral located in downtown Los Angeles, featured a performance by the GRAMMY-winning artist as well as an interview with Jason Bentley, KCRW's Music Director and host of Morning Becomes Eclectic. It will be taped for broadcast on Morning Becomes Eclectic this Friday, April 9th.

Bailey Rae performed 'The Blackest Lily' on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on Wednesday, April 7th. She'll appear on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' on May 3rd and CBS' 'The Early Show' on May 6th. While on tour, she'll play the Coachella Music and Arts Festival (April 17th) and the St. Lucia Jazz Festival (May 8th). Her dates in Portland (April 11th) and Seattle (April 12th) will be (RED)NIGHTS shows, with a portion of the proceeds going to RED (https://www.joinred.com) in support of the Global Fund, the dominant financer of programs that fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. See below for a tour itinerary. Bailey Rae will also play select Lilith Fair dates (to be announced).

Corinne, who has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the international charity Pump Aid since 2007, is giving away a track from her latest album, The Sea, as a thank you to people who make a donation to Pump Aid, which works to combat the global water and sanitation crisis. 'Love's On Its Way,' a poignant song of hope, will be provided as a free download to anyone who donates through the Everyday Hero link: https://www.everydayhero.co.uk/donation/cbr

The free download link can also be embedded or forwarded via a widget that promotes the 6K Dow Live Earth Run For Water, which will take place in more than 50 countries on April 18th. Pump Aid and Live Earth are joining forces for the event - the largest single fundraising effort in history to combat the global water crisis. Nearly one billion people lack access to sanitary drinking water and 5,000 children die each day as a result. The charity widget is available at:

With The Sea, which entered The Billboard 200 in the Top 10, Bailey Rae continues to have multi-format success at radio. 'The Blackest Lily,' her latest single, is already in the Top 30 at AAA radio while first single "Closer" just hit No 10 on the Urban AC charts, marking her first Top 10 song at the format. The track is currently Top 20 at Smooth Jazz and Top 30 at Adult Contemporary radio. She'll appear on the 'The Tom Joyner Morning Show' (syndicated on 115 Urban AC stations) on April 21st, 'Acoustic Cafe'' (syndicated on 50+ AAA stations) on April 23rd, WFUV, New York's AAA station, on May 5th and on the 'Dave Koz Radio Show' (syndicated worldwide on 60+ Smooth Jazz stations) on May 8th.

The New York Times hailed The Sea as 'a major creative leap from her debut." In a four-star, Critic's Choice review, People said: "she captivates with a haunting, heartbreaking set that's almost painfully exquisite." The Los Angeles Times gave the album four stars, calling it 'a remarkable accomplishment' while Rolling Stone observed: "Her latest is both reckoning and rebirthFragile arrangements - guitar, auto-harp, orchestra - suggest indie rock ('Are You Here') as much as R&B (the Isley Brothers-ish 'Closer'). Rae also celebrates love and, on 'The Blackest Lily,' even rocks a funky vocoder, confronting death with the greatest weapon: life, fully lived."

Bailey Rae's first album debuted at No 1 on the U.K. album chart in June 2006 and she was the first British female singer-songwriter in decades to have her first album enter The Billboard 200 in the Top 20. By year's end, it was RIAA-certified Platinum. She won a Q award, a MOJO award, an Image award and two MOBO awards and was nominated for three GRAMMY awards - 'Record Of The Year' and 'Song Of The Year' for her first single, 'Put Your Records On,' and 'Best New Artist.' After Bailey Rae's performance on the 2007 GRAMMY Awards telecast, the album rocketed into the Top 5 of The Billboard 200. In 2008, 'Like A Star,' her second single, was nominated for 'Song Of The Year' and Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters, on which Corinne sang the title track, won the GRAMMY for 'Album Of The Year.'
