New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Eli "Paperboy" Reed has announced his first U.S. tour dates of 2019. The Brooklyn-based singer and his rafter-raising, horn-drenched live band will set out across the Eastern United States on the heels of new album 99 Cent Dreams, out April 12 on Yep Roc Records. The tour kicks off with a hometown album release show on May 2 at New York's Le Poisson Rouge and continues into the southeast and midwest. 99 Cent Dreams was recorded in Memphis at the iconic Sam Phillips Recording studio with acclaimed young producer Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price, Jason Isbell) and background vocals from legendary Memphis vocal group The Masqueraders.
Billboard premiered the album cut "Bank Robber" in January and said Eli's lead vocals "channel a bit of vintage Sam Cooke." Listen here: https://bit.ly/2CBdCep

In 2018, Eli released an alternate version of the album's title track featuring one of his heroes, Big Daddy Kane. Check out their instant classic video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSitRPiZBV4

99 Cent Dreams marks a return to the timeless music Eli fell in love with as a young man -- performing in the juke joints of Clarksdale, Mississippi and the Chicago church of Chess Records artist-turned-preacher Mitty Collier. With his enduring love of soul music more fervent than ever, Eli's songs on 99 Cent Dreams may range from joyous and playful to nostalgic and wistful, but at their core each centers on appreciation, fulfillment, gratitude and all else that comes with hard-won perspective.
