Ireland's Coronas Kick Off Fall Tour In Calgary On September 25, 2018
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Last month, The Coronas, perhaps Ireland's hardest working band, was able to scratch playing at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago off their collective bucket list after having attended the iconic festival in the past as fans. Simultaneously, according to Consequence of Sound, "they redefined the term 'Irish music.'"

The Coronas kick of their third tour of North America in less than a year at The Gateway in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on September 25. The fall tour, largely comprised of headline club shows, will also include stops at the Austin City Limits Festival on two consecutive weekends and an appearance at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans.

While The Coronas have set their sights on expanding their audiences in the U.S. and Canada, they also continue to delight their loyal fans back home in Ireland with their dynamic shows. After headlining the 3Arena in Dublin in July, they recently announced their annual holiday concerts at Dublin's Olympia Theatre, now in their 10th year. Tickets for the first two shows on December 3 and 4 sold out in less than an hour, the immediate addition of two more shows on December 5 and 6 that are now also sold out. Additionally, the band will play Ulster Hall in Belfast on December 9 and the Ireland National Events Centre (INEC) in Killarney, Co. Kerry on December 29, both well on their way to selling out as well. Prior to their shows in Ireland, the band will also make a quick return trip to Australia to play in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth on November 22, 23 and 24, having sold out a St. Patrick's Day pop up show in Sydney back in March in 48 hours.

Recently called "Ireland's best-kept secret" by the Irish Examiner newspaper, and for good reason, The Coronas have rolled out new music in the form of a five-song EP called REPRISE, available now on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and other digital outlets. The Irish Independent newspaper has described the collection as being in "the key of indie alienation, disquiet, melancholy, mortality, regret, guilt, with glimpses of joy and happiness. All wrapped up in piano-and-guitar melodies that owe more to the Edge or Radiohead than they do to Coldplay, or indeed David Bowie."

Their latest album, TRUST THE WIRE, debuted at #1 on the Irish music chart its first week of release last year, becoming the band's first album to reach that coveted top spot. TRUST THE WIRE was also The Coronas' first release on their own label imprint-So Far So Good Records, distributed in the U.S. and Canada through ADA Distribution. The band has already started writing material for their next album, to be recorded early in the new year.

The Coronas' Danny O'Reilly (vocals, guitar), Graham Knox (bass), Conor Egan (drums) and Dave McPhillips (guitar) have five critically-acclaimed albums to their credit--four of them double platinum in Ireland and one on its way there-and have spent the last decade touring all over the world. "We were never an overnight success in Ireland," explains Coronas frontman Danny O'Reilly. "We went through the small clubs up to little theatres, and now we're luckily at the stage where we're playing arenas. But it was all a process, and we're starting to see that in North America. We plan to keep coming back and building it like we did at home. Above all, we appreciate what we do every night, and never take it for granted. It's the best job in the world."
