L.U.N.A.R. present a shimmering electro-indie creation in the form of their new single 'In The Forest' out November 27. Self produced and mixed/mastered by Ben Zushi-Rhodes ( Robert Wyatt, The
Coral and Kid British, The Big Pink) 'In The Forest' seduces the sun from behind the clouds with its insistent and soulful take on tropicalia: "We love a crazy tropical banger about the outdoors," they enthuse, "and the track embodies one thing. Who says summer has to be over?!?"
Sweltering beats, ambient hooks and supple basslines enable L.U.N.A.R. to hook the listener along with an anthemic lyric promising "We could run away" over a rhythmic gem which moves with a club-friendly swagger comparable to Hot Chip, Glass Animals,
Cut Copy and LCD Soundsystem. With 'In The Forest', L.U.N.A.R. demonstrate their willingness to playfully experiment and establish a sound that is both unique and memorable.
Having met at the Purcell School For Young Musicians (notable alumni including
Daisy Chute / All Angels,
Oliver Lewis and Micachu), Anna Disley-Simpson (vocals, bass) and Jamie Minns (vocals, programming) convened as L.U.N.A.R. to create tropically infused electronica filled with human warmth. Taking inspiration from the sounds of Africa and Asia and influence from the likes of Foals,
Years & Years and Lana Del Rey, the duo distill non-Western music into their futuristic sound.
L.U.N.A.R. are bridging the gap between the dancefloor and the great wide open. With future dates planned for across the UK it's time to leave those autumn blues behind and dance... 'In The Forest'..
