New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, a review of the off-Broadway musical, Songbird, was featured on the front page of the New York Times Arts Section. A Nashville take on Chekov's The Seagull, the musical is "Powered by a terrific country score by
Lauren Pritchard" (also known as LOLO) "with a strong assist from Michael Kimmel's smart contemporary version of the text..." The review continues to praise her songwriting contributions saying her songs "prove to be a natural fit for Chekhov's drama of misfired romances and lives steeped in disappointment..." Lauren Pritchard's first taste of Broadway started at the age of 18 when she originated the role of rebel character Ilse, in the 8 time Tony Award winning original Broadway production of
Spring Awakening.
Going as LOLO, she released her EP Comeback
Queen this past July on DCD2 Records about which HillyDilly.com said, "Comeback
Queen is about to hit you right in the heart with the most gut-wrenchingly good, heart-piercing vocals you've ever heard".
Her voice has previously been heard on Fall Out Boy's hit single 'Centuries' as well as Panic! At the Disco's 'Miss Jackson'; and has gained the support of another powerhouse vocalist, Paramore's Hayley Williams. Adding some female flair to the roster, she's currently on the road as a special guest on Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and New Politics' fall co-headline tour, alongside The Griswolds.
