New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today 22-year-old Grammy-nominated artist
Lil Yachty releases "Oprah's Bank Account (featuring
Drake and DaBaby)" from his upcoming album, Lil Boat 3, due this spring. Written by Yachty, the song was produced by EarlOnTheBeat and the video was directed by
Director X. Filmed in Toronto and Atlanta, the video concept originated from Lil Yachty, who also penned the skits and (almost) mastered walking in hose and heels.
In the video,
Drake has his AHA moment discussing his LSC (light-skinned capability) with Boprah.
Drake also enlightens the audience as he takes the next right step by embracing the new generation of rappers, stating he "loves all the little ditties, all the little jingles that the kids are doing," and praising Lil Yacchhy for being at "the forefront of that movement of music that should be forgotten about."
Later,
DaBaby reveals he is living his best life and illuminates Boprah on where we are going when he says 'let's goooooo' and on the art of making an album sound like one whole song ("make every damn song like an ongoing song - you never have to make another song again," he explains).
"Oprah's Bank Account" is reminiscent of Yachty's installment of his 2016 Lil Boat series, which first cast light on his high notes and unique melodies. The singer, rapper, producer, creative designer, branding genius and fashion icon currently boasts 3.3 billion streams. He has graced the covers of FADER and Paper magazines, as well as landing the cover of The New York Times Men's
Style section and XXL Freshman cover. Rolling Stone said
Lil Yachty "may change the way people rap," while The New York Times Magazine dubbed him as an artist "that tell us where music is going," and indeed they were correct.
Lil Yachty has released three studio albums, two mixtapes, four extended plays, 10 music videos, and 24 singles. He has collaborated with ASAP Mob, Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, Charlie XCX, Chief Keef, DRAM, Juice Wrld, Kyle, Offset, Playboi Carti, PnB Rock, Post Malone, Quavo, Smokepurrp, T Pain, TM88, Trippie Redd, Two Chainz, Young Boy Never Broke Again and Zaytoven among others.
"This year, through a mixture of time, distance, and restraint, it's become hard to deny Lil Yachty's recalibration…Lately, Yachty's been turning in acrobatic performances." - Rolling Stone
"Besides the actual sun, there is no source of joy in the world right now brighter and more sustaining than Lil Yachty. So basically, the moral of the story is: cancel all your plans and stay at home, and instead just understand that the Goodest Night has now been had, by one Lil Boat, Esq. You will never have as good a night as
Lil Yachty had…Apologies." - Noisey by Vice
"This prodigy is the future of hip hop. He has a fan base ranging from plugged-in teens to global superstars, plus a growing number of people in between…The sheer obvious joy that Yachty takes in making music is one of his best qualities, and its infectiousness is one of the main reasons why people are flocking to him the way they are. It's beautiful to see someone so fully consumed by their passion, and inspiring to see an artist so confidently exploring his form" - Esquire
