Mandy Patinkin Launches North American Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Mandy Patinkin, whose first album in seventeen years, Children and Art, was released on Nonesuch last week, launches a thirty-city concert tour, accompanied by pianist Adam Ben-David, at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia tonight. The tour, which features songs from the new album, made with pianist/producer Thomas Bartlett, and their previous digital Diary series, continues with shows across the US and Canada through February 2020. Stops include San Francisco, DC, Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, Detroit, Ft. Lauderdale, and many more.

"After thirty years my musical collaborator, Paul Ford retired," Patinkin says. "I wasn't sure if that meant I would have to as well. But my dear friend Bob Hurwitz [of Nonesuch] introduced me to Thomas Bartlett, who introduced me to an entirely new way of making music … in his studio, hours of playing, singing, and recording, never searching for the illusion of perfection." He continues, "Singing onstage is one of the greatest joys in my life. My concert tour, with pianist Adam Ben-David, will include music from these albums along with Broadway and classic American songs. We look forward to sharing this music with you, wherever you are."

On Children and Art, Patinkin performs songs by Randy Newman, Laurie Anderson, Lyle Lovett, Taylor Mac, Stephen Sondheim, Tom Waits, Rufus Wainwright, Taylor Mac, Teitur, and Patinkin himself. To pick up a copy, head to your local music shop or the Top40-Charts Store, where CD orders include a download of the complete album at checkout; the album is also available on Amazon and iTunes and can be heard at Apple Music and Spotify.
