New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - World-renowned Jazz pianist and pioneering composer Marcus Roberts has confirmed a series of performances for the Spring/Summer of 2009. Marcus continuously tours with The Marcus Roberts Trio, backed by Jason Marsalis (drums) and Roland Guerin (bass). They will be augmented on this tour by everyone from high school jazz bands to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The Marcus Roberts Trio will perform work from the new record on selected dates. The tour wraps with multiple performances at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola for Jazz At Lincoln Center, July 7th through July 12th. See below for complete details on each show.

On 'New Orleans Meets Harlem, Vol. 1,' Roberts interprets the work of jazz greats such as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Scott Joplin, Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk. By crafting a sound and style entirely his own, Roberts reveals how these innovators inspired two great branches of jazz music.
