Meet Courage My Love Canadian Trio’s ‘Becoming’ EP Out Now The Becoming Tour U.S. Dates Announced Band Makes New York City debut at CMJ Music Marathon October 16, 2013
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Earshot Media) Homeskool Prom Records / Warner Music Canada recording artist Courage My Love are thrilled to announce The Becoming Tour (America and Canada). The 22-date tour kicks off in their hometown of Kitchener, Ontario on November 17/2013 and wraps up in Lansing, Michigan on December 20/2013. The US leg will be the band's first ever tour of the United States since signing with the FATA Booking Agency (The Dangerous Summer, Hyro Da Hero) in the U.S. Prior to the tour, the band will make their official US debut in New York City on October 16/2013 to perform at CIMA's Canadian Blast Showcase at the influential CMJ Music Marathon Festival in front of fans, music industry professionals, college radio tastemakers, bloggers and press from across the country.

Courage My Love recently released their latest EP, Becoming. Recorded in Toronto with producer Chris Perry, Becoming's 8 songs showcase the band's rip-roaring rock. In July the band graced the cover of Canadian Musician Magazine as "the new breed of Canadian recording artist."

The Kitchener, Ontario-based Courage My Love is led by singer/guitarist Mercedes Arn-Horn and her twin sister Phoenix (drums/vocals). The group is rounded out by bassist Brandon Lockwood. To mark the recording of the new EP, Courage My Love launched the online episodic video series "The (Un) Real Lives of Courage My Love" which is posted on the band's Youtube page www.youtube.com/ilovecouragemylove. The series is a fictitious look at the creation of Becoming.

Courage My Love have cut their teeth and built their audience with fiery live performances. They have torn up the stages of a number of key festivals like the Vans Warped Tour, NXNE and Canadian Music Week while playing alongside the likes of Paramore, Tokyo Police Club, The Pretty Reckless and A Day To Remember. In 2012, Alternative Press Magazine pegged Courage My Love as one of the '100 Bands You Need To Know'. The group's debut EP, For Now, was released in Canada in the Fall of 2011 and in Japan in the Summer of 2012. The Japanese release was followed up by a live showcase in the land of the Rising Sun six months later.

The band have also produced a number of popular broadcast and viral videos (over 3.9 million views on the band's Youtube channel) as well as the podcast series, "Homeskool Detention," that can be heard on their website, www.ilovecouragemylove.com.

Bio:
What is courage? When you're a young rock 'n' roll band—courage is throwing yourself into your music fully and completely. It's stepping onto a stage and just given'r. It's touring new places far from home, and opening up, scars and all, to your fans. Courage is saying what you really think. It's being unafraid of change, of becoming who you really are.

Courage My Love is all of these things.

The Kitchener, Canada band consists of twin sisters Mercedes Arn-Horn (vocals, guitar) and Phoenix Arn-Horn (drums. vocals) with their friend Brandon Lockwood (bass).

Call them a power trio, pop-punk, alternative metal. As you wish. They grew up on it all. But while you are jumping around and banging your head with abandon, don't miss the message: They have no appetite for destruction. They do not seek to destroy. No, Courage My Love is here to uplift, inspire.

Becoming, the band's new EP, produced by Chris Perry in Toronto, is eight tracks bled out of Courage My Love during a period of exciting changes. "Our first EP For Now came out when we were 17," explains Mercedes. "When you're our age, a lot can happen in two years." Yes, many good things. Like heavy rotation on MuchMusic/MusiquePlus, more than 3.8 million YouTube views, and being on Alternative Press Magazine's list of the Top 100 Bands to Know in 2012. "Before we went on tour we'd never been away from home," says the guitarist. "You meet all these new people, and you learn about yourselves. We've all grown a lot. That was the inspiration for Becoming."

Opening track "Skin and Bones" captures the fear and longing of leaving something behind. "We're too old to die young," they sing over thunderous beats, the heart of the matter. Hard- knocking first single "You Don't Know How" cranks it up, intense and defiant: "Find out I'm strong enough on my own now." By the time the EP closes with the haunting ballad "Dark Wood, Dark Water," about finding the one thing that pulls you out of the darkness, Courage My Love's mission is clear: rock out, be happy, stay true.

For this next generation of musicians, that means truly embracing social media. With their popular DIY podcasts and viral videos, Courage My Love not only connect with fans, they reveal more of their true selves. It's all part of what they do best. "This whole band is about being yourself," says Phoenix. "You don't need to play by the book to be successful. Being a girl isn't that big of a deal in music anymore. You don't need to have a certain look. Break the rules, stand apart."
