Members Of The Allman Brothers Band, Hubert Sumlin, Shemekia Copeland, David Lindley And More Take The Iridium Stage In March
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) March promises to be a month to remember at The Iridium, with some of the finest guitarists and singers in rock, blues, funk, and jazz performing at the popular Manhattan music destination. Throughout the month, the club will celebrate the Allman Brothers' Beacon Theatre residency, hosting special midnight after-shows featuring band members, collaborators, and friends including Devon Allman, Duane Trucks, Leo Nocentelli, Col. Bruce Hampton, and more.

In addition, Hubert Sumlin, Shemekia Copeland, and Leo Nocentelli (with special guests Bernie Worrell and Fred Wesley) will all headline multiple nights in March, and The Iridium's trademark Les Paul Mondays series--which features the late guitar giant's trio with a different special guest each week--will continue with Jackson Browne-accompanist David Lindley, legendary songwriter Tommy James, and more. Here's just a few of the March standouts:

Mar 7 - Tommy James (and special guest Gene Cornish of The Rascals) w/ The Les Paul Trio: Hit songwriter Tommy James, leader of The Shondells, boasts 22 gold singles, 9 platinum albums, and over 100 million records sold worldwide. Songs from his catalog--which features hits like "Mony Mony," "Crimson & Clover," "Draggin' The Line," and "Ball of Fire"--have been covered by over 300 artists around the world, including REM, Prince, Billy Idol, Kelly Clarkson, Dolly Parton, Joan Jett, Tom Jones, Cher, Broken Bells and even The Boston Pops.

Mar 11-12, 18-19, 25-26 - Allman Brothers After-Shows: After The Allman Brothers finish rocking The Beacon each weekend in March, head to The Iridium for midnight sets by some of the band's most celebrated side projects, collaborators, and associates. Highlights include Devon Allman's Honeytribe March 11; The Yonrico Scott Band (featuring Allman Brothers bassist Oteil Burbridge and his brother Kofi) March 12; a Funk Summit featuring Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Bernie Worrell (P-Funk), Fred Wesley (James Brown, P-Funk), and more March 18; Jaimoe's Jasssz Band (featuring Allman Brothers drummer Jaimoe) March 19; Colonel Bruce Hampton and Pharaoh Gummitt featuring Duane Trucks March 25; and more. Special surprise guests will join these shows throughout the month.

Mar 11-12 - Shemekia Copeland: Still in her 20's, Grammy-nominated vocalist Shemekia Copeland has already opened for the Rolling Stones and shared the stage with such luminaries as Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Taj Mahal and John Mayer. She'll be performing in support of her latest release, 2009's 'Never Going Back.'

Mar 18-20 - Funk Summit: Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Bernie Worrell (P-Funk), Fred Wesley (James Brown, P-Funk): In their 41-year history, The Meters have grooved their way around the globe with such talents as The Rolling Stones, Dr. John, Paul McCartney, Robert Palmer, Patti Labelle, and many more. Guitarist and founding member Leo Nocentelli carries on the music of the band with The Meters Experience, and he'll be joined at The Iridium by P-Funk legends Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell, and more.

Mar 26-27 - Hubert Sumlin: Best known for his work as guitarist for Howlin' Wolf, blues legend Hubert Sumlin's emotive and instantly recognizable style has influenced countless guitarists from Eric Clapton and Keith Richards, to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Rolling Stone christened him one of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."

Mar 28 - David Lindley w/ The Les Paul Trio: Multi-instrumentalist David Lindley performs music that redefines the word 'eclectic.' Lindley, well-known for his many years as the featured accompanist with Jackson Browne and leader of his own band El Rayo-X, has long championed the concept of world music. Lindley effortlessly combines American folk, blues, and bluegrass traditions with elements from African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, Malagasy, and Turkish musical sources.

Also appearing at The Iridium in March are the JP Jofre New Tango Quartet, The JT Project, Jon & Lynn and The Giant Cicada, NYC Hit Squad, Alex Foster Quintet, the Joe Alterman Trio, Mercedes Hall, Chaise Lounge, the JC Hopkins Biggish Band with Raven Page, The Phoebe Legere Quartert, Bobby Zankel's Warriors of the Wonderful Sound w/ Rudresh Mahanthappa, Spampinato Brothers, The Mahavishnu Project plays the music of Jeff Beck, Tony Middleton & the Ex Caminos, Jeff Lorber Fusion, The Pete Levin Trio, Steve Smith and Vital Information, Terese Geneco and Her Little Big Band w/ Carly Ozard, Georgia Rogers Farmer, and Tim Reynolds.

About The Iridium:
Deemed "hallowed ground" by iconic guitarist Steve Miller, The Iridium stage has played a part in launching the careers of countless artists, though it may now be known best as Les Paul's second home. The late guitarist performed at The Iridium weekly for more than 12 years until his passing in 2009. Today, the Les Paul trio continues on in his honor, performing Monday nights with guests that have included guitar gods like Jeff Beck and Zakk Wylde, as well as many others.
