New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Perseverance Records) "Nowhere to Run":
Soundtrack from Jean-Claude Van Damme Film Available for the First Time
The soundtrack from the movie "Nowhere to Run" (1993), starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Rosanna Arquette, is available for the first time -- and at Perseverance Records exclusively. With 38 tracks composed by Mark Isham and a running time of roughly 66 minutes, the CD is available at a price of $16.95, and limited to just 3,000 units.
Robin Esterhammer, owner of Perseverance Records, says: "We are proud that we now can offer the film scores from ´Nowhere to Run', as well. After 'Kickboxer', 'Bloodsport', 'No Retreat, No Surrender' and 'Death Warrant', this is the fifth soundtrack from a Jean-Claude Van Damme film we have produced."
In "Nowhere to Run", Van Damme plays escapee Sam Gillen seeking refuge on a farm in the remote countryside, where widow Clydie Anderson (played by Rosanna Arquette) lives with her two children. Because a real estate speculator wants to take possession of the farm by force, Sam helps to defend Clydie and her kids. "Nowhere to Run" is considered the first film in which Van Damme proved both his martial arts and acting skills.
Unlike Mark Isham's previous works, the music in "Nowhere to Run" is at once sensitive and riveting through the use of a large orchestra. A year before (1992), Isham composed such film scores as "A River Runs Through It", for which he received an Oscar nomination (director Robert Redford), and "Of Mice and Men" (director Gary Sinise). Recent films with soundtracks written by Isham are "
Warrior", "Dolphin Tale" and "The Mechanic" (all 2011).
