Pacific Festival Hosts Over 60 Buzz Bands From Around The World, Establishing Orange County As A New Summer Music Festival Destination In The USA
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Top40 Charts / Pacific Festival Official Website) Pacific Festival: OC presented an outstanding lineup for the second year of the Southern California arts and music festival, which was held at the new location of Oak Canyon Ranch at Irvine Lake on Saturday, August 13th. With an attendance of 10,000, attendees flocked for a chance to see some of the most talked about and celebrated musicians of 2011 perform on five unique sound stages located throughout the scenic lakeside venue and wide-open fields. Pacific Festival has proven Orange County as a perfect location for their SoCal Summer music festival offering music fans from LA, San Diego, Orange County and surrounding areas a refreshing new destination to hear their favorite artists.

Highlights from the festival include, surprise special guest performances from Warren G, Daz Dillenger and Kurupt alongside Snoop Dogg, Red Bull's team of skydivers flying into the festival grounds, deviantART's stunning live art installations, Ghostland Observatory's unveiling of their unrivaled laser light show, Calvin Harris' Orange County debut, as well as Cut Copy's highly anticipated closing set to their tour. In support of all this fans were also dazzled by the likes of Chk Chk Chk's front man Nick Offer, rock'n'roller Hanni El Khatib, psychedelic pop from Toro Y Moi and Phantogram, as well as the now legendary Lakeside stage and its talented line-up of Nu-disco luminaries like Fred Falke, Bag Raiders, Classixx, The Twelves, and Poolside to name a few of the day's stars. To complement this great day of music, the festival partnered with Bear Flag Fish Co., Memphis Cafe, and Roaming Hunger to host gourmet local fares for guests to enjoy. The food truck village offered a wide selection of premium food including some of the most popular catering trucks in California.

In addition, deviantART, the world's largest online art community, which hosts' 16 million members, catered to attendees' visual senses with live art installations provided by spectacular visual graphic performances by Scott Pagano (aka: netherfield) between sets on the main stage LED screen, as well as another large format piece at the festival entrance created by Forest Stearns (aka: draweverywhere.) Both artists are members of the deviantART community.

Pacific Festival: OC not only offered a wide range of music for it's guests to enjoy, but a partnership with Roaming Hunger provided the festival a chance to showcase over 20 of the best of Southern California's food trucks within the festival grounds.

About Pacific Festival: OC
Pacific Festival: OC was successfully launched last year by transforming Orange County's Costa Mesa community landmark Triangle Square into a two-day music festival that played host to capacity crowds and featuring 50+ acts, including founding partner Steve Aoki, The Sounds, Rebelution, Miami Horror, The Aggrolites, Alan Braxe, Classixx, Lifelike, Rob Roy and Chiddy Bang. In addition, Governor Schwarzenegger endorsed DEEJAY DC's successful Guinness Book of World Records attempt at Pacific Festival: OC for the world longest DJ set-spanning 121 consecutive hours. "This is a quite an endeavor you're about to undertake, one that could not happen without your determined efforts and skills. As a former professional athlete, I know the tremendous amount of preparation it takes to become a winner, and I applaud your dedication to making your goals a reality," wrote Governor Schwarzenegger in a letter of support written to Deejay DC.

Pacific Festival is the vision of two groups of longtime friends with a combined 40 years of experience in music and event production. Steve Aoki, world-renowned DJ and founder of Dim Mak Records, and Mike Tunney, founder of Collaborative Media, have been friends for over 25 years, growing up together in Newport Beach. As their first business venture, Aoki and Tunney wanted to create a new music and arts festival for Southern California. With a keen vision to produce first-class live entertainment experiences, the two friends joined forces to create Pacific Festival alongside Kelson Berkus, John McCullough and Justin Ruiz. "The idea was to produce an event that connects culture with community; art with music; and entertainment with philanthropy in our backyard of Orange County," says Steve Aoki, one of the festival's founding partners. "We wanted to establish a premium music and arts festival, and have organized a large collective of seasoned event producers, artists, friends and musicians."
