New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlantic Records has announced an array of activity surrounding today's release of "PAPER TOWNS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK," the musical companion to the eagerly awaited film from
20th Century Fox. The album arrives today, July 10th, in stores and at all online retailers; PAPER TOWNS, adapted from the award-winning bestseller by author John Green (The Fault in Our Stars), opens in theaters nationwide on July 24th.
The release of "PAPER TOWNS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" is being celebrated with several new music videos featuring exclusive footage from the PAPER TOWNS film. Next week will see two new companion music videos for tracks from the soundtrack: "
Great Summer" by Atlantic Records singer/songwriter Vance Joy, and Elektra recording group Saint Motel's worldwide breakthrough single, "My Type."
Saint Motel is also set for a number of live events and high profile performances celebrating "PAPER TOWNS - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK." The Los Angeles-based band will headline a major PAPER TOWNS event at Dallas' Bomb Factory, set for Thursday, July 16th, followed on Monday, July 20th by a performance of "
My Type" on NBC's TODAY (check local listings).
As if that weren't enough,
Saint Motel will be among the soundtrack stars performing at an exclusive live streaming event from the YouTube Space LA on Friday, July 17th. Beginning at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, the event will celebrate the release of the film and soundtrack and include appearances by cast members and performances by artists from the soundtrack including
Vance Joy and Nat & Alex Wolff. In addition, the event will see the world premiere of Nat & Alex Wolff's "Look Outside" companion video along with appearances from the film's cast and crew. Additional details will be announced next week.
Last but very definitely not least,
Saint Motel will perform a special acoustic rendition of "
My Type" at the "Night on the Towns" special event on Thursday, June 23rd -- the eve of the film's hugely anticipated national opening. The event gives fans the chance to be first to see PAPER TOWNS, along with an exclusive Q&A with the film's stars and creative team and an additional acoustic performance by Nat & Alex Wolff. As if that weren't enough, fans attending "Night on the Towns" will receive a free poster and commemorative locket exclusive to the event.
