LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL. (www.petermurphy.info) - PETER MURPHY will launch his first U.S. tour in support of his new solo album, UNSHATTERED, on May 12 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The three-week, 13-date tour is the Bauhaus frontman's first in the U.S. in three years, and will hit clubs and theaters in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco; see below for a complete list of tour dates. The tour follows Murphy's performance at the Coachella Valley Music Festival in Indio, California, with the reunited Bauhaus.

UNSHATTERED, Murphy's eighth solo album, was released in the fall of 2004. Although the album was written and recorded in a few weeks, some of the music dates back to sessions in 2002, including contributions from former Bauhaus drummer Kevin Haskins, former Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery and former Porno For Pyros/Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins. Other collaborators on the album include Murphy's somtime-writing partner Paul Statham (Deep) and producer Gardner Cole (who has also worked with Madonna).

Murphy, an Englishman who now resides in Turkey, fronted Bauhaus through its 1983 breakup and subsequent reunion tours; but his status as a cult hero owes more to his adventurous solo material. Says RollingStone.com, "He's still in full possession of his amazing vocal ability and range, and commands the stage with an impressive theatrical bravura." This exquisite album still puzzles Murphy: "UNSHATTERED is such an oddity that I'm still not used to it myself. It is an enigmatic and elusive to me, even though I wrote every word."

Murphy will tour with a full band, including drummer Justin Bennett (Skinny Puppy), guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite (Tricky, The Mission) and bassist Jeff Schartoff (Human Waste Project).
