New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In 2007 Randy Rogers & Wade Bowen - both individually known for their successful touring and recording careers - got together for a run of acoustic dates they called "Hold My Beer and Watch This." Eight years and hundreds of shows later, a
Lloyd Maines-produced album called 'Hold My Beer: Vol. 1' was born. Today, in support of the 10-track collection described as "all that is good about beer, bars and buddies" (Country Weekly), the duo unveiled dates that will take them across Texas, into the Midwest and, for the first time, the West Coast.
Staying true to what audiences expect from a "Hold My Beer" experience, Rogers and Bowen promise a rousing 90-minute set combining their original acoustic antics plus
full band performances of the album's "roadhouse ready party anthems," (Rolling Stone Country).
"I'm ready to tour this record, we've both lived these songs and continue to do so," says Rogers. Bowen adds, "This is always my favorite time of year. Two buddies, hangin' out playing music 'cause we love what we do. What could possibly be better?"
Reflecting an enduring friendship and an almost decade-long, house-packing tour, the tracks off 'Hold My Beer, Vol. 1' are what Rolling Stone Country says is what's "missing in country music."
Earlier this month, NPR
Music selected "Til It Does" for its "best songs of 2015 (so far)" mid-year list. Featured earlier in the year by flagship show, Morning Edition, NPR says this track is "honky-tonk music to make your heart melt."
"No, it's not another set of country anthems to longnecks and tailgating—quite the contrary," says The Wall Street Journal. "This is a fine, no-glitz, knowing hard-country outing by two familiar denizens of the
Texas music circuit—Randy Rogers, of the successful band with his name, and Wade Bowen, who has been crossing the mainstream/alternative country lines since the turn of this century."
Rogers and Bowen historically sell out major
Texas venues, and are excited about playing in cities including Chicago, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco nad West Hollywood's famed Troubadour. They'll close with a headlining performance on Sept. 17 during AmericanaFest in Nashville.
