Dynasty Electric, who has drawn the attention of Damon Dash and collabed w/ the likes of Ski Beatz and Brian Chase of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, just released a new video for single "Eye Wide Open" and will drop an eponymous album June 26th on label

Tessa G bring elements & songs from their electro-prance pop projects Tayisha Busay (winner of SESAC's NYC Rising Contest) and Great Tiger to an engrossing interactive multi-media dance party. KALEN (formerly of Ladybug Stingray) fronts a new project of her solo material w/ band the A-listers (Zack Hagan & Wayan Zoey of ZXL); the trio has been compared to "The
Black Keys giving
Portishead to
Grace Jones in the bathroom of the
Met."
The Roc-elle Fest is co-presented by Planet Connections, New York's premiere eco-friendly/charitable theatre and arts festival in its 4th year. The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity takes place May 30-June 24 at the Theatres at 45 Bleecker in SoHo.
Music events also include an Opening Nite Pre-Party Thurs May 31st at 45 Bleecker, featuring a DJ set by Analog Fire. On Fri June 8th, PIANOS (158 Ludlow St) will host Jen Urban & The Box,
Alyson Greenfield, Beautiful Small Machines, Luxe Pop, and Run For Cover plus Special Guests the INDIGGO TWINS (feat. on Watch The Throne, "Murder to Excellence").
Beautiful Small Machines is fronted by Bree Sharp (of the cult hit "David Duchovny") and Don DiLego, whose recent single "Simple Joys" features
Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran.
Alyson Greenfield recently released the hip-hop covers EP "Rock Out With Your Glockenspiel Out" on Roc-elle Records and was one of the first artists to record at the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in Brooklyn. OUTmusic nominees & Go Mag Nightlife Awards' "Best NYC Band", Jen Urban & The Box are currently planning the release of their sophomore LP this Fall, including tracks produced by Zack Hagan. Indie rock 5-piece Luxe Pop released the single "I'm Not Driving" off their forthcoming LP One Bulb Room last month, with a video premiere on CMJ.com.
Sun June 10th the Festival continues at 45 Bleecker w/ sets by
Laura Dunn and the
Ghosts of Xmas Past and Debunk, as part of PCTF's Our Climate Crisis presentation. On
Thursday June 21st the Fest comes to a close with a Networking Party at Bowery Electric (327 Bowery) w/ DJ Greg Caz of Brazilian Beat Brooklyn, a longtime resident of Nublu (w/ Forro In The Dark) and
Black Betty.
