SESAC Signs David Crosby
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / SESAC Holdings) Grammy-winning songwriter and recording artist David Crosby, best known as a folk rock pioneer, who continues to capture generations of audiences with his timeless music and one-of-a-kind harmonies, has signed with SESAC Performing Rights, it was announced today.

Crosby has been a prolific songwriter throughout his career as both a solo artist, and as a member of groups. During his time as a member of The Byrds, he penned hits like "What's Happening," and "Why?" After departing from The Byrds and forming Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby wrote influential songs like "Guinnevere," "Almost Cut My Hair," and "Wooden Ships."

"With his brilliant storytelling and masterful lyrics, it's no doubt David's music and creative influence continues to thrive," says John Josephson, Chairman and CEO, SESAC Holdings, Inc. "His career and success are a testament to his enduring songs and unending talent, and SESAC is proud to welcome David to our affiliate family."

Most recently, Crosby's new documentary 'David Crosby: Remember My Name' premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival with critical praise. The Hollywood Reporter called the documentary 'touching' and 'nostalgia-infused' while Variety said, 'There's a spirit inside him that won't fade.' The film was picked up by Sony Pictures Classic for North American distribution. His latest album, Here If You Listen, was released in October 2018 and features Lighthouse band members and fellow SESAC affiliates Becca Stevens and Michael League.

About David Crosby
Crosby, a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is enjoying an unprecedented late career surge. He released his last album, Sky Trails (BMG), in October 2018. The 2018 album took on a new musical direction with full-band sound; core members included Steve Tavaglione, Mai Agan, Steve DiStanislao, and Crosby's son, James Raymond, who also produced the album. Sky Trails followed the 2016 critically-acclaimed Lighthouse, praised by Rolling Stone and National Public Radio, which was preceded by 2014's Croz, Crosby's first solo album in 20 years.

In Crosby's unparalleled six-decade career, the native Californian has created songs that resonate as indelible cultural touchstones for more than three generations, not only as a solo artist, but as a founding member of The Byrds in the mid-60s, Crosby, Stills & Nash-garnering a GRAMMY for best new artist in 1969-and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. He's collaborated with dozens of artists, including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Phil Collins, Elton John, Carole King and more.
