Showoff Returns With New Record "Midwest Side Story" On September 22, 2017
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Beloved Chicago pop-punk band Showoff is back in action with plans to release a new album this Fall.
Today the band is premiering a new song ("Popular Kid") off the forthcoming album "Midwest Side Story", exclusively on Alternative Press.
Stream "Popular Kid" here: https://www.altpress.com/features/entry/showoff_premiere_popular_kid.

Front man Chris Messer tells AP, "The song is about my life growing up, but we all feel it's relatable to all people who feel disenfranchised or made to feel bad about themselves. Basically, it lets them know that they aren't alone; and the people that matter in life, don't care if they are popular or not, they care about them a human being on a much deeper level."

"Midwest Side Story" will be released on September 22 via Dodgeball Records, the newly-launched label started by Messer, his wife Dani and Mike Felumlee (Smoking Popes). Album pre-orders will launch on July 21 at https://showoffrock.com/.

Here's a quick refresher: In the late 1990s, Showoff's self-titled third album was released on Maverick Records, which at the time was owned by Madonna herself. The LP was among the first to be produced by prolific studio wiz John Feldmann (Good Charlotte, The Used, Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182).

The band reformed in 2014 with a mostly original lineup, featuring Chris Envy (Chris Messer) on vocals, Dave Envy (Dave Hyde) on bass, Dan Castady on drums and Darren Vorel and George Castady on guitars.
Showoff is set to play a hometown show with Punchline at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago on August 12.
