Sony/ATV Extends Deal With Jamie Scott
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Sony/ATV Music Publishing has extended its worldwide deal with hit songwriter, artist and producer Jamie Scott. The new agreement covers the British talent's entire song catalogue, including Major Lazer's worldwide hit "Cold Water" featuring Justin Bieber and MØ as well as songs recorded by artists such as One Direction, Niall Horan, Rag'n'Bone Man and Enrique Iglesias. It additionally takes in future works.

Sony/ATV UK Managing Director and President, Worldwide Creative Guy Moot said: "Jamie Scott is a true melodic genius and a songwriter who develops hits constantly with a real understanding of the artist. He has a unique perspective of what it means to be a new artist, with a compassion for and an understanding of where they come from."

Sony/ATV UK Head of A&R David Ventura said: "Jamie is undeniably one of the most talented songwriters I have ever met. His songs travel across the world and this reflects his extraordinary talent. It is an honour and a privilege to work with Jamie and his manager Rick Wilson. All of us at Sony/ATV look forward to continuing to be a part of his successes."

Jamie Scott said: "I'm so grateful that Guy and the great team at Sony/ATV have given me so much support over the last few years. I'm excited for the years ahead and for all that we can achieve together."

Jamie Scott's manager Rick Wilson said: "Jamie and myself are delighted to extend our long-term partnership with Guy, David and the whole Sony/ATV team. We have enjoyed many successful years with Sony/ATV and we are looking forward to many more."

Jamie Scott is one of the UK's most successful contemporary songwriters, having penned hits for acts including One Direction, Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias, Olly Murs and Rag'n'Bone Man.

His close association with One Direction resulted in him featuring on the writing credits of all five of the group's global-conquering albums, creating along the way some of their most-loved and successful songs, such as the RIAA-certified triple-platinum smash "Story Of My Life", UK chart-topper "Drag Me Down" and the Top 10 hits "Perfect" and "Night Changes".

Since One Direction's hiatus at the end of 2015, he has continued to work with group member Niall Horan, including co-writing his debut solo hit "This Town", which reached No. 9 in the UK, made the US Top 20 and which to date has been streamed more than 200 million times on Spotify. He also co-penned Horan's current single "Too Much To Ask" and both songs feature on the 1D member's first solo album Flicker, which in October debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US.

However, Scott's work with One Direction is only one aspect of a diverse range of output for the British singer, songwriter and producer who has worked with an eclectic mix of artists as well as sustaining his own recording career. In fact, this year has been one of his most successful yet, having executive-produced Human, the debut album from British singer-songwriter Rag'n'Bone Man, as well as co-writing a number of its songs, including the UK Top 20 hit "Skin".

Following its release in February, Human became the UK's fastest-selling debut album by a male solo artist this decade with 117,000 first-week sales and has to date shifted nearly 800,000 album-equivalent units domestically, making it the year's No. 2 seller. The album has also been a hit around the world, including topping the French chart and reaching the top three in Germany and Australia.

Scott's chart-topping success with Rag'n'Bone Man followed him reaching No. 1 in the UK and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US last year as the co-writer of the Major Lazer hit "Cold Water", which features Justin Bieber and MØ. The song was certified triple platinum by the RIAA for 3 million US sales, surpassed 1 million sales in the UK, reached No. 1 in Canada and Australia and peaked at No. 2 in Germany and France.

He also co-wrote and features alongside Romy Dya on the Martin Garrix and David Guetta single "So Far Away", which was released at the beginning of this month.

Among the many other acts he has worked with are 5 Seconds of Summer, Colbie Caillat, Ella Henderson, Hurts, Michael Kiwanuka, Tom Odell, Christina Perri, Ron Sexsmith, The Vamps, Jessie Ware and Rudimental whose next single was co-written by him.
As a recording artist he issued the 2014 solo album My Hurricane. This followed the release of two albums with music producer Tommy D under the collective Graffiti6.
