The Prodigy Score Six Consecutive UK No1 Albums
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Prodigy's latest album - The Day Is My Enemy - crashed into the #1 spot in Sunday's UK's Official Album Chart, giving the incendiary electronic rockers their sixth consecutive UK number 1 studio album.

Early results from other territories indicate strong placings internationally, with the band hitting #2 in Holland, #4 in Ireland, #8 in Australia and topping Japan's international album chart. The album has also already surpassed the gold sales threshold in Russia.

The Day Is My Enemy, the band's first studio album in six years, was released on the band's own Take Me To The Hospital label through Cooking Vinyl Records. The Prodigy's first release on Cooking Vinyl, 2009's Invaders Must Die, sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide, won IMPALA's Double Platinum award and went on to become Europe's biggest selling independent record of the year.

The band's previous UK's Official Album Chart-toppers were Music For The Jilted Generation (1994), The Fat Of The Land (1997), Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (2004), Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005 (2005) and Invaders Must Die (2009).

Following on from Cooking Vinyl's success with January's release of Marilyn Manson's The Pale Emperor, 2015 is already shaping up to become the label's best year in its 29 year history.

Liam Howlett (The Prodigy) manager Nick Halkes said "The Prodigy have completely carved their own route since day one and their determination to do so today remains undiminished. It's a completely independent mindset on the records side but also in terms of live which has always both informed the record making and then amplified the reach of the band once a record is done. The level of success that has followed demonstrates the continued potency of a unique band and the value of working with a great team who support the vision"

Cooking Vinyl Founder Martin Goldschmidt added "The Prodigy's sixth # 1 album epitomises a band who have always been independent. A band who have never compromised and are leading contenders for the most important independent band of all time. It is a testimony to the hard work and to the talent of the Cooking Vinyl (and partners!!!) team who have played a crucial role in delivering this landmark result"

Thursday night also saw the band's now infamous fox - the night prowler featured on the cover of the new album - beamed 30ft high across famous London landmarks. It all kicked off at 8:30 with the fox appearing on Battersea Power Station, he then popped up on Shoreditch High Street at 10pm before stamping his sneering snarl all over the Houses of Parliament just a few hours after the end of the party leaders election debate.
